Natur Campingplatz Bad Mergentheim

The campsite gives a messy and poor impression already at the entrance. The sanitary facilities are a disgrace for any camping guest (one toilet, one shower, two sinks, one accessible toilet and shower). Small pitches. There will be no second visit from us.

We and our dog feel very good here. Everything is clean and the lovely little details everywhere on the site invite both young and old to explore. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back.

Does not look inviting upon arrival. Note on online booking. There is a lot of clutter lying or standing around in the entrance area. Work is being done, but not really improving anything. The price-performance ratio is not acceptable at all. A sanitary building is being renovated, is supposed to be finished by the beginning of the 2025 season, but it doesn't look like it. The second building has one toilet and two urinals for the men. Two showers for the men. All this for 80 parking spaces, fortunately it was not full. Everything is simple but very clean. The shower room is well heated and has hot water. Parking spaces are grass, part paved, everything uneven. For one night it is okay, but not recommended for a longer stay.

The description of the campsite seems to be a vision for the future. Apart from lots of nature, showers, electricity, and a bread roll service, we found nothing else. The campsite manager had to be called by phone. Actually, this is no problem, but €32 for 2 people and a VW California in the low season is completely overpriced. Right now on the Côte d'Azur, a spot with a swimming pool, grocery store, restaurant, reception, demarcated pitches directly on the Mediterranean costs €25. We cannot recommend this site.

We had expected more. The site is a long strip along a paved path, the poorly marked pitches vary in many different ground textures (grass, fully paved, partly paved, compacted earth, gravel) and are often quite uneven. The sanitary facilities are not directly dirty, but also not really well-maintained. The shower cubicles are tiny and have a noticeable step. There is no catering or kiosk available, and the clear location outside means: shop beforehand! At the site, there is only a drinks vending machine and a herb bed for self-service. However, a pizza delivery service from nearby Bad Mergentheim delivers to the site. You can also order rolls from the site manager, which will be delivered to the pitch around 08:00. The site manager is friendly and helpful, and especially the tranquility at the site should be emphasized. (Okay - the site doesn’t provide anything for children, so no children = more peace) There is an open common room with tables and a foosball table and a few games, and near the site manager, a bookshelf with used books. Those who have everything and are looking for peace are right here. Those who need action or like to go out to eat are literally out of place. Basically, the site is too expensive for what it offers.
