Receptionist was factual. The area appeared unkempt; the railing leading to the toilets was rusted and placed too low. Only three showers (extra charge) and three sinks and toilets are not sufficient for a site of this size. Men's toilets without windows; ventilation must be done through the entrance door. Accessibility is completely non-existent. An electrical line in the shower area is exposed, without a cover at the ceiling light (wet room, IP?) Everyone can buy alcohol at the publicly accessible vending machine (Youth Protection Law?).

Good site, service and sanitary facilities with much room for improvement. Good for visiting Hamburg

We stayed for four days with the caravan to see Hamburg. Booking via email, deposit of 100€ (5 people with electricity = 190€). On site at the reception, a friendly gentleman, good instructions, tips for the baker, restaurant, and shopping. About the site: We were lucky and had a view of the lake. The pitches are all quite steep. The playground is small but nice. There is a slackline, a seesaw, two swings, a slide, and sand. Sanitary facilities: 3 minutes of showering for 50 cents is expensive. Operating the shower selection is a challenge. The dry comment from the lady at the reception: “You can also turn off the shower.” - have you ever showered with children?! The washing machine costs 4€, that’s ok. The dryer is 3€. But it simply stopped the program after a certain time. The laundry was still wet. When I wanted to inform the operator about this, she simply turned around and left. Now it gets unpleasant! All sanitary facilities are not barrier-free; to reach the toilets, there is only a slippery stone staircase, and all the rooms are very cramped. A stroller barely fits inside. But it’s nice that the homepage advertises the “fragrant wooden facade” (...). The bathing lake is accessible with a key, deposit 20€. It’s quite nice, but unfortunately, the wild geese have heralded the off-season with countless droppings. The baker has cosmic prices, nice goods, sure, but nearly 19€ for 6 rolls, 3 croissants, and two pretzels seems outrageous to me. The village inn is also very expensive, even though I received 4 Aperol vouchers upon arrival at the campsite (which you apparently only get from the older gentleman). The campsite obviously serves as a transit point for travelers to Hamburg. Accordingly, the fluctuation is high. Shopping is possible in Trittau. A large supermarket (familia) is waiting for you + various discounters. For Hamburg, it is advisable to use the P+R from Rahlstedt (15 minutes by car and 15 minutes by train), but be careful, the P+R parking garage (2€ per day) has a height limit of 198 cm. We parked our bus in the adjacent residential area. For a visit to Hamburg, the site is certainly ok, but more than 3-4 days would be 1. too expensive for too little service, 2. too unfriendly and not customer-oriented.
