Camping Walldorf-Astoria

Very nice staff, great new washroom. Ideal spot to watch races in Hockenheim, for example. Also ideal as a stopover. Unfortunately, there is very poor mobile/4G/5G reception there (Vodafone). The Wi-Fi from the office building did not reach our spot.

We absolutely cannot understand the partly negative reviews. The operators are super nice, the sanitary facilities are very clean, everything is new. The food in the restaurant is very good. The pitches are large and level, the caravan can remain hitched. Since the campsite is near Heidelberg and the bus stops directly at the entrance, it is also suitable for multiple overnight stays to explore the beautiful surroundings. We really enjoyed it and wish the operators all the best for the future, and we will definitely come back.

We spontaneously searched for a place to spend the night in our camper and unexpectedly found this well-equipped site. Friendly welcome on Saturday at 6 PM. The pitches are large enough, electricity/water all okay. The sanitary facilities are brand new and clean. We even received a delicious barbecue buffet for 14.50 € per person in the small campsite restaurant. Very friendly and attentive service. The price of 34.50 € including electricity is not entirely cheap, but compared to other campsites in the area, it's perfectly okay for us. The behavioral rules are not a problem for us; without them, it seems unfortunately it doesn't work for some campers.

Beautifully located site with good transport connections. Ideal for dogs, as there is a forest directly adjacent to the site, inviting walks.

Was at the square today, wanted to check it out, take a walk through, as I will soon have friends visiting with a camper looking for a parking spot here (I live here in the direct vicinity). The lady at the reception advised me to check it out on the homepage, then she turned around and walked away. I have the impression they don't want guests.

A rather small place near the A5 that is suitable as a stopover. You can park the entire setup on the site and be ready to start the next morning. But this place is also suitable for a stay of a few days. There is a zoo and a swimming pool within walking distance, and with a bus stop right outside the door, you can reach Heidelberg in half an hour. We experienced the helpfulness of the hosts when our support wheel broke, and we needed assistance. The hosts immediately made efforts to organize help, and the next working day we were referred to a small workshop nearby that fixed the damage. The site also has a small inn with a beer garden. So, if you arrive after a long journey, you won't have to search for long, as there's an inn on the grounds. The menu is rather small, but the dishes are tasty. With so much friendliness and willingness to help, we will be happy to return to this place when we are traveling again.

We were on the road for 6 weeks. We've never seen such a terrible place after 37 years of camping. Only rules and prohibitions. The site was almost empty and we HAD to park with a view of a rubble heap. The gate and sanitary facilities are closed from 12-3 PM and 9 PM-7 AM!!!! WE WILL NEVER stay at this site again. We are not spoiled, but this is absolutely unacceptable.

Very unfriendly owners!!! They have been new operators since 2022. Beware, closed from 12 to 15 o'clock, gate completely shut. No EC card payments possible. Unfortunately, the campsite consists only of prohibitions. The shower hours are only until 21 and extremely long closed at noon. No play opportunities for children. No cancellation of an online order on site possible. Beware, there is no customer orientation from the operators.
