Upon arrival, we were not really welcomed kindly, The woman at the reception was very rude. The restaurant on the site had a day off. So we had to eat outside about 100 meters away from the site. What looked like a cozy restaurant with a beer garden was just a snack bar. Side dishes like salad were sold out.. Back at the site, we wanted to rent a pedal boat, which was also possible only with some conditions to sign.. With the request to let us know again when we are back.. On the pedal boat, the next surprise: it could not be steered to the left.. When returning it at the reception, we informed that it was broken.. but no one really cared.. In the evening, a guard walked around the site. Many dogs. We only stayed for 1 day and continued on our way.

Dogs are allowed. Vacation campers should keep them on a leash.

The place is okay, no more and no less. But it is characterized by permanent campers, which you can notice on the weekend. When one is done, the next one starts mowing. And there is construction noise from the permanent campers. So it's not peaceful. The restaurant on site is good and the service is very friendly, absolutely to be recommended. Wi-Fi is weak but works. The sanitary facilities are clean and functional. Those seeking peace are in the wrong place. Otherwise, it's good.

Nice place with potential.

The site is obviously undergoing change. A large part of the plots for permanent campers is nothing more than junk and awaits demolition. However, the seasonal pitches are well equipped, often with electricity, water, and sewage connections. There is also plenty of space available. The sanitary facilities are well done, but unfortunately, once-a-day cleaning was not sufficient. This was due to a few individuals who behaved disruptively. The small restaurant has a limited selection, but the food is excellent!

The site is nicely quiet in the middle of the forest. The area is easy to explore by bike. The facilities are fine and clean. The staff was friendly. We will definitely come back. Overall, a solid site, but without wanting to award the absolute top rating.

It was a nice, lovely short vacation with friends. Everyone was very polite and clean. Unfortunately, there was hardly any water in the lake, it was being repaired. We would love to come back.

We were at the site with 2 children. The friendliness left much to be desired. While bathing, we were reminded by the permanent campers to be quiet. And we were really not excessively loud. The "restaurant" was not good; we either cooked or ate outside. Well, the fries for the children were edible. From 9 o'clock, a night watchman walked over the site and admonished us (sitting in the tent with card games without music, with normal to quiet conversation); he came every half hour and said it was too loud. Every evening!! When we asked the surrounding campers the next day if they had noticed anything, we were confirmed. No one noticed our card game, only the important night watchman. We always had the feeling of being a necessary evil, an additional source of income for the permanent campers. We will not come back.

Holiday guests in motorhomes and caravans can spend relaxing holidays all year round on the quiet site by the small, clear bathing pond with a sandy beach. The area around Rothsee and Brombachsee also attracts the whole family with a variety of leisure activities. In winter, you can go ice skating or explore the fairytale snowy landscape on cross-country skis.

Comfortable campsite by the lake with children's entertainment

The tastefully designed Waldsee campsite is characterised by a tranquil and relaxing forest ambience. The 78 tourist pitches for camper vans, caravans and tents - some of which are covered by tall old trees - are generously sized. There are electricity columns at all sites, and special comfort pitches also have water and waste water connections as well as TV reception. The wheelchair-accessible sanitary facilities with hot water and showers, including several individual wash cubicles, are well maintained and clean. The washing machine and tumble dryer are very welcome, especially for longer stays. There is a restaurant serving tasty meals with a charming view of the lake. The bread roll service, which delivers crispy warm rolls to your breakfast table, is very convenient. If you want to go online at the campsite, you will receive a card for the WLAN. A newly designed playground offers little guests lots of imaginative ways to romp around. During the Whitsun and summer holidays, the children's entertainment programme ensures that parents can relax undisturbed by the lake. The sandy beach can be reached quickly via direct access. In addition to swimming and sunbathing, there is also the opportunity to go pedal boating and paddling. In the neighbouring secluded woodland area, there are numerous paths for long walks with your dog.

Multifaceted lake and cultural landscape

Camping Waldsee is an ideal starting point for hikes and cycle tours in the idyllic Franconian Lake District. A popular tour on a hire bike takes you to the Großer Brombachsee lake, around 20 kilometres away. Sailing, surfing, kitesurfing - water sports enthusiasts get their money's worth here. Families enjoy an exciting round trip on the MS Brombachsee trimaran. Lovers of interesting history will find what they are looking for in the centre of Roth. The town museum in the pretty Renaissance Ratibor Castle tells the story of the town's eventful history, while the Leonische Waren factory museum presents a wide variety of exhibits made from the finest brass wire.
