Camping Strandbad Mannheim

A beautiful campsite, right by the Rhine, including shipping traffic. An extremely friendly operator couple, bread roll service, well-maintained sanitary facilities. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay. Very good transport connections to Mannheim and Heidelberg.

Beautiful small campsite. The washrooms are not the newest but perfectly fine. There is free water (still/medium/sparkling) and snacks at the own kiosk for a small fee. The couple running the campsite is very nice and friendly. We would come back anytime.

Even, very quiet meadow spot for our van. Very friendly reception even for Saarlanders. Wonderful hiking trails for humans and dogs. Beach promenade with 2 restaurants where dogs are not allowed. Very clean washroom. Was cleaned 2 times a day. However, open and without heating. Viiiiery cold in spring! Late lunch with hot water. Delicious rolls can be ordered. We were also able to relax well at Easter. Everything well-kept and in top condition. 5 stars

We were a few days with the whole family, so 2 caravans at the site and some visitors in the afternoon and evening at the campsite. The sanitary facilities were absolutely fine and clean, a small problem with clogged toilets was resolved very quickly. Particularly noteworthy for us is the operator couple. They are super friendly, likable and anticipate the needs of campers in advance. The visits of our family members, who stayed overnight in Mannheim itself, were also welcome and were not viewed critically. In our assessment, the site is not really ideal for children. There is no playground on the site itself (but there is one nearby). There is no real safety barrier to the directly adjacent Rhine. However, from our perspective, this is a very small downside, for us as a childless couple it is an absolute dream spot, which will surely not be the last time we've seen.

Very friendly small campsite right on the Rhine. Almost every plot has a direct view of the Rhine and the passing ships. New, well-maintained sanitary facilities, including a family bathroom TOP!! and a washing area with cooking facilities. Quiet location as a dead end, nice adjacent beach pool Mannheim with diverse gastronomy. Roll service at the reception. Super nice operators. Good value for money. Please note opening hours with a lunch break and cash payment!!

The place is ideal as a starting point to get to know Mannheim and the surrounding area. The sanitary facilities are very clean and the showers are spaciously designed. In the evening, one can enjoy a drink, with an Aperol (from the beach restaurant) in hand, by the Rhine. The birds of the nature reserve with their chirping behind the campsite provide a good start to the new day the next morning. It is really very nice to have breakfast in the sunshine by the Rhine while watching the passing cargo ships and excursion boats.
