What campers are saying
Summarized by AI
The campsite scores with its dream location right on the river and the idyllic swimming lake in the middle. Campers are particularly pleased with the exceptionally friendly staff and the excellently maintained, spacious site in the pine forest. The delicious restaurant and well-stocked shop are also a big hit.

Simply too expensive. For a campsite in this price range, I expect a first-class offer, such as water and sewage connections at the pitch, an electric connection, and a connection for TV. All of this is offered at similarly priced campsites, but not here. I needed two 25m cables for the electric connection at a standard XL pitch. No water connection at the site. We had to get water at the nearest sanitary facility. The worst part was the chemical toilet disposal. There were only two stations on the campsite. The one I used was in a wooden enclosure and was just 1.5 meters away from the waste bins. Hygienically, it's a disaster. The restaurant had prices of a high-end gourmet establishment but the food, while acceptable, did not remotely match the price asked.

A lot of hustle and too expensive Pool feeling and the lake is very small Music by the lake and very loud Every little spot is offered as a plot Partially no night lighting Trees are not trimmed due to fire hazard No signage for escape routes and missing fire extinguishers Anyone wishing to wash laundry, cost EUR 9.00 for a load

Price-quality ratio in my opinion very poor

The campsite itself is very nicely located right by the river and gives a largely natural impression. As for the catering, I cannot comment as we did not use it. However, in my opinion, the price-quality ratio here is not at all appropriate: for one night we paid over 90 €. (the staff member at the reception did, however, explicitly point out the price during check-in!). For that, we received a spot in the 'free zone', where campers are packed closely together. The sanitary facilities are okay, but in my opinion, they do not correspond at all to the price asked for the pitch.

Beautiful, spacious site, in the heart of nature. Great restaurant. Nicely landscaped swimming lake. Can only assess washroom S6 - like new, excellent facilities. Prices a bit high, but with ACSI there are at least a few percentages off. Friendly staff. Easily accessible and not far from the motorway. Daytime flight operations from a nearby sports airfield, but this only causes limited disturbance.

Beautifully located site with many recreational options

We stayed here for two nights with a motorhome in August 2024. Without a reservation, we got a (non-reservable) spot on the 'free area' on a Thursday shortly after 4 PM. The path to the nearest electric box on these sites is sometimes very far! The site is quite large, but it is well spread out and nicely shaded by the many trees. The large sanitary buildings are modern and clean. There are many recreational opportunities on the site: the (cold) lake with an inflatable spa area for swimming or paddleboarding, the (even colder) river, bike rental, rafting tours, playgrounds, sports fields, kids' club, etc. Additionally, there is a small supermarket and a restaurant on the site. The beautiful town of Bled is easily accessible by bike. You can also stay longer here. However, the site is very expensive!

Great location, miserable management! Beware of WoMo!!

The location of the campsite next to the river is top-notch! Many shade-giving trees. You're in the middle of nature. Swimming is not possible because the river and swimming lake are so cold that even in August, after just a few minutes, your limbs start to hurt! Otherwise, we were very disappointed! The site is completely overcrowded, and the grass is very dirty. Anyone traveling with a WoMo should be warned. We booked a plot of 160m2. In reality, we only had 37 m2 available! The branches of the trees hang so low that you have no chance. When we politely complained and asked for a discount, it turned into a 30-minute discussion with four people (including management). No willingness to compromise! If we didn't want to pay the price, we would have to call the police. Ultimately, they threatened us with police involvement. In the end, we received 10%. Rip-off!!!!

Great campsite located in nature by a river with its own lake. The site is very expansive. Spots are partly unpartitioned and of unfortunate shape. Washrooms are not always as clean as one would like. Prices are far above average when considering the local options and on-site. Nevertheless, a nice place for a few pleasant days.

More info about Camping Šobec
Surrounded by a dense coniferous forest, Camping Šobec offers the ideal conditions for a peaceful holiday alone, as a couple or with the whole family. Situated directly on the Sava, the campsite has an artificial lake that invites you to swim, cool off and relax, especially in the warm summer months.
Camping in the unspoilt Slovenian countryside
Camping Šobec is located in the north of Slovenia, just a few kilometres from the border with Austria. The site is surrounded by the Karawanken mountains, which are up to 2,238 metres high and offer spectacular photo opportunities. The Sava, Slovenia's largest river, flows right past the campsite and is a popular destination for leisurely walks. Campers will find a total of 400 pitches here, 150 of which are parcelled out. The size of the pitches varies between 80 and 100 m², so that travellers have enough space for themselves and their caravan. The campsite is equipped with modern sanitary facilities, washing machines and kitchenettes. The children's playground is particularly suitable for young children, while older children can swim, play and splash around in the huge lake. The slides there are also very popular with teenagers, while the sun loungers under parasols are particularly popular with parents. The tennis court, bike hire, a varied sports programme and a mini-golf course invite guests to get active, so there's never a dull moment. Overall, Camping Šobec has a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. Even dogs are always welcome here and quickly find new playmates.
Tips for day trips in the region
Located directly on the border between Slovenia and Austria, the 2,238 metre-high Hochstuhl is the region's scenic landmark. It is a favourite destination for mountaineers and climbers in particular. Pure nature can be enjoyed in the Dino Park Bled, where several true-to-scale models of historical dinosaurs are on display. The Triglavski narodni park, which can be reached by car in just a few minutes, promises peace and quiet in a completely secluded natural setting. On the way there, travellers also pass the Iglica waterfall, which offers a spectacular photo opportunity. For more distant day trips through the region, the Slovenian capital Ljubljana and the country's Adriatic coast are also worth considering. The Mediterranean Sea, which is particularly inviting for swimming and diving in summer, is just 120 kilometres away.
