Camping Schlüchttal

A small, very well-kept place on the banks of the Schlucht in the north of Waldshut-Tiengen. It is arranged in terraces, with the lowest terrace, like a clearing in the middle of the forest, guaranteeing a cozy and pleasant stay. The very dedicated owner regularly checks if everything is satisfactory and also suggests possible excursion destinations. Thanks to the manageable size, all paths are short, the washhouse is very clean, and warm showers are free of charge. The reception is in a small restaurant ("Gaststube zur Schlucht") with a similarly small but nice menu of food and drinks. If you come from the city like us, you accept the noise, very loud during the day from the road leading to the Black Forest on the other bank of the Schlucht (trucks, motorcycles) and in the air due to the proximity to Zurich-Kloten Airport (flights have resumed) – at night, however, it is pleasantly quiet, you only hear the babbling creek. Two high-voltage lines run over the site but were not found to be disturbing. Possible excursion destinations: Black Forest, e.g. Schluchsee, Titisee, Feldberg, St. Blasien Old town of Waldshut (especially Kaiserstraße) Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen (about 40 km) Lake Constance (Konstanz about 90 km) Switzerland (Zurich, about 50 km) A flawlessly functioning, free Wi-Fi adds to the excellent impression that this campground leaves.
