Poor sanitary conditions

The sea is great, but you do notice the retreat of the beach - it is quite small at high tide, but that adds to its charm. The campsite is well located, but very crowded with tight plots. Many mobile homes. Terrible sanitary facilities. No hot water in 2/3. Poor hygienic conditions, especially in the rain. The water from the toilet collects in a puddle in front of the entrances. Wifi only for an additional charge - 3 days 7 euros.

Great location - poor infrastructure for campers

Here, it appears that the focus is primarily on renting accommodations. For campers, there is only the possibility of emptying chemical toilets or grey water at the exit of the vast area. Water extraction points are also seldom found. Only electricity is available. The pitches are very varied by nature and partially reinforced with gravel to prevent getting stuck. The sanitary facilities were a mix of good and bad during our stay. (maybe depending on the cleaning teams). The bar with a sea view is lovely and invites for a sundowner. The small shop has everything you need for daily necessities. The pool was very busy. For the gentlemen, the strict French rule applies here: wear tight swimming trunks.

A dirty disaster at an overpriced price

An worn-out mobile home including dirty dishes from the previous renters and a broken slatted frame. If you like mold in the shower, this is the right place for you. The front door cannot be locked despite ‘repairs’. The stairway to the mobile home is broken and hazardous. A run-down and filthy place. The beach is only accessible at low tide, no lying space at high tide. The pool area is beautiful, but completely overcrowded. You are NOT allowed to wear flip-flops in the pool area! Men are NOT allowed to wear swim shorts, only swim briefs. There is only one garbage collection point at the main entrance of the site. Only there is garbage allowed to be disposed of. The washhouses are outdated and smell of urine. In short, we left 5 days earlier. I give one star because zero was not an option.

A wonderful place on the Atlantic. A beach café with a view of the sunset. Plus, a great leisure pool with very good lifeguards. Parents, you can relax there too. The mobile homes are well-maintained and very well equipped. A young team provides entertainment, including for the kids. The campsite restaurant naturally also offers moules-frites. A delight :-) The place is not too big. Kids from elementary school age can quickly orient themselves and head to the playground, the soccer field, or to get some fries with friends (without parents). We can really recommend this place.

Total disappointment - departed early

July 2022

Large campsite but with many mobile homes. Campsites are narrow, small, and often too sandy to drive a motorhome on. Sanitary facilities, while new, are hardly cleaned, and urine is on the floor. One sanitary block was closed during our stay. The swimming pool is completely overcrowded. Beach difficult to access and only via a narrow staircase. We did not like the beach, the water is cold and there are hardly any waves. Small supermarket on the site. Limited selection but very high prices. The bar closes as early as 10 PM, but the children's entertainment continues loudly until 11 PM. We were completely disappointed and left early. The price-performance ratio is not right.

I do not understand the bad reviews. The place is top-notch. The sanitary facilities are the best we have had so far in France. Out of stupidity, we got our camper stuck. Immediately, two extremely helpful employees of the campsite came. They dug my camper out for two hours and were super friendly. The location is great right by the beach. Everything fits here.

More of a holiday village than a well-managed campsite

June 2021

This review only refers to the pitches for tents and caravans. If you prefer rental accommodations, this is particularly suitable for families with younger children. A large swimming pool and regular animations provide variety. Unfortunately, there is far too much traffic on this site, and it occurs frequently at night, as the barrier systems are often defective and there is no security at the entrance. The pathways on this site are very misleading. We have had to help several motorhomes out from too sandy pitches, sometimes only with the help of the local towing service. The campsite for tents in the B/C area is less recommendable during the peak season. The number of tents per pitch is not limited. As a result, there are far too many people crowding around the 2 wash houses. Previously, there were 3, but one was closed after the takeover by the Sandaya Group. These wash houses have been modernly renovated, but they are technically in poor condition: The shower water does not drain properly, you stand in the shower water of other people, the hot and cold water fixtures are opaque, and there is often no hot water, for example, for washing dishes. The toilets are mostly clean and are regularly cleaned. There is now even toilet paper and a toilet seat. The beach in the northern section towards Soulac is accessible via a somewhat questionable metal staircase. The beach itself is guarded, suitable for children, and very beautiful. Further north is ideal for surfers. However, in the southern section towards le Negade, there is the problem that during high tide, this beach is difficult to access due to a steep decline near the actually protected dunes. In particular, the ascent after a day at the beach is very arduous and not recommended with a lot of luggage. The surrounding area is highly recommended, there are also plenty of good campgrounds in the immediate vicinity if you cannot find what you need at this site. The price-performance ratio of this so-called 4-star site is rather poor compared to better alternatives in the area.

Not Worth a Recommendation!!

We stayed here for 5 nights in the preseason! Friendly reception and in German, we specified our chosen place and paid for all nights in advance!! Everything was set up and then we looked for a power outlet and only found a cut cable (carrying electricity) reported this at the reception!! Someone will come or we will move! After 2 hours we moved!! Even the staff doesn't adhere to the speed limit and every vehicle kicks up a dust cloud! We couldn't find a place for water collection! Just filled a pot in the dishwashing sinks! After three days there was a bit less sand in the showers, no cleaning!!! Just rinsed with water, that's it! I’d rather stop telling how the ADAC can award 4 stars, I wonder…
