Camping Ria Formosa

We had an XL pitch on a gravel area without trees or shrubs. The offered double pitch under the trees was quite cramped for a combination with awning. The sanitary building was often cleaned during the day. There is a mini-market and a restaurant.

Good: - Sanitary facilities are kept permanently clean - Quiet - Train line or traffic has never disturbed Bad: - Staff unfriendly; primarily sees itself as a control instance; otherwise comes across as impersonal and uninterested - Spaces too small; you can hardly open the awning; slightly larger campers must rent 2 spaces - Little planting, gravel and asphalt - Site is created without care; we felt like we were standing in a parking lot - Restaurant and shop already closed in September

The campsite was very appealing to us: beautiful swimming pool, quiet at night, very good willingness to help far beyond the usual, friendly staff.

We got a gravel spot without shade with our caravan. Very small parcels. For permanent campers, there were spaces with oleander hedges and shade. A supermarket parking lot has more flair. Next to the pool, there is a major construction site. Behind the site is the railway line.

Good campsite with narrow pitches. We were there in the off-season and the site was not fully booked. So we could use 2 pitches. Sanitary facilities are okay and clean. Very good restaurant with delicious fish and meat dishes. Nice bike tours possible.

Very nice spacious place with generous pitches, clean and beautiful sanitary facilities, very purposefully arranged, swimming pool, small supermarket, recommended restaurant. It is 15 minutes to the Ria (through the nice little town), a boat shuttles from there to the beach, beautiful beach, good transport connections to the beautiful Tavira (bus, train). Staff very helpful and friendly. All in all: We would be very happy to come back!

Sanitary area very well-maintained, staff numerous and very friendly and helpful. Restaurant with daily dishes at 8 euros. In the town of Cabanas shopping opportunities "Spar", restaurants (Restaurante Ideal, very good!), bars, café, bakery. Very nice surroundings for cycling on bike paths. Unfortunately still too cold for the pool, what a shame!

I had waited with our camper in front of the entrance while my wife looked for a parking space on the premises. Our vehicle was not in anyone's way and no one was hindered. Then a furious security guard came up to me and said I should use one of the designated parking spaces (they were too short for our camper, which is why I was parked longitudinally across 3 parking spaces to ensure access to the area). In response to my argument that there were no other vehicles there and plenty of other spaces available, he became really angry: he was the police here and I had to do what he said, and we were to kindly look for another spot. We are older people with decades of camper experience, but we have never experienced anything like this!
