Very nicely laid out, large and well equipped, places unpaved, rather small, place categories not recognizable/traceable, It's a shame that payment must be made in advance! Almost everywhere pines, sanitary facilities also very nicely laid out but rather old and it doesn't smell nice, beach not at the site but not far. Railway and N340 near Hörna. Nice restaurant with friendly staff, water in the washrooms salty!? Large underground garages available! We were there with ACSI.

Everything was great, very helpful on-site for 14 days and especially beautiful in the evenings with lots of entertainment and shows. The laundry houses were also in top condition. We are coming back this year because we liked it so much.

The place used to be good

As a regular customer (16 years), we were very disappointed this time. As a first impression, one admires the beautiful floral decorations and the nighttime lighting. The gardening facilities were excellently maintained. But the pricing policy: As a senior citizen special price, we paid €66 per day for two people during the Easter holidays! Actually, we had registered for 55 days, and according to the advertisement, one should receive a 10% discount from the 21st day, but since this time starts again after each holiday / bridging day, we ended up with 18 or 17 days with only a 5% discount. And the bridging days were also more expensive instead of €17.00 it was €19.50. Additionally, we had to pay the full price for the booked days upon arrival, and in case of illness and early departure, the entire amount is forfeited. The restaurant used to be good, we ate well once, but the second time the pizza had a soggy base, was totally burnt, and the mussels were cold. We used to enjoy the beach bar, but that can also be forgotten. At Easter, it was very lively here, loud music in the area prohibited for television, nothing for holidaymakers in need of relaxation. I have nothing against dogs if someone has a dog, but with 3 and 4 dogs left alone, the constant barking can get on your nerves. The toilet facilities could also use a rejuvenation. Only one thing: they were excellently maintained by the cleaning staff; they were always clean. The highly advertised wellness area is always closed; you have to register separately for that. Since Salvatore, the former owner, passed away, it has only gone downhill here. The staff is friendly; they can’t do anything about the management's policy. Unfortunately, we will not come here anymore.

Expensive and then not full service

We were at the campsite during the pre-Easter week and had a spot in the upper area. The site was large and sunny. However, the sanitary facilities belonging to this area were not opened, despite verbal confirmation. This meant that one had to take the arduous path up and down for the toilet, showers, etc. This is far too expensive at a price of €66 a night in April. After a complaint, the management only told us that there were too few people renting the upper area, and therefore the sanitary facilities would not be opened. For us, this is unacceptable! The fact that basic service areas are not opened just doesn't work!!!! Otherwise, the site is very well-maintained, but the sanitary facilities are outdoors, so it can be quite cool in the mornings and evenings (at least in April). The site is very large, and I think it will certainly be very loud in the summer; we got a taste of this during the Easter holidays when the site was 50% occupied. The site is located directly between a busy road and a railway line - both can be heard well depending on the location of the parking space.

Not for the Noise-sensitive

At first, we were assigned a spot directly behind a bar in the amphitheater. Fried food and oil stinking ‘loud fans’ ran from 8:00 PM to 1:36 AM. Loud people until after 2:30 AM. After complaining, we were assigned a different spot. This standing area among the locals was quieter. On one hand, attention is paid to details like mask-wearing (Covid-19) everywhere. But at the festival at the pool bar, no one cares about that anymore. The spot has all the infrastructure one could wish for. However, it is not a place for people looking for peace on their vacation.

There is only good to report from this place, friendly and helpful staff, large supermarket, very good restaurant, and very large event arena; compared to other places, this place is rated too low at 4.5 stars.

Spain and then this place, it doesn't get better, friendliness, thoughtfulness, and so on are greatly emphasized here. We just wait for our retirement age, then we will be happy guests.

More info about Camping Playa Bara
Sparkling crystal-clear water, a fine sandy beach and a bathing area nestled in a lush palm garden: v is a true feel-good idyll on Spain's Costa Dorada coastline, which makes the hearts of beach holidaymakers beat faster.
4.5-star campsite with tropical pool area and close to the beach
From April to September, guests can make themselves at home on this 16-hectare holiday idyll and enjoy their days off on one of the numerous parcelled-out pitches. All pitches have their own electricity connection as well as connections for fresh water and waste water. Surrounded by hedges and tropical shrubs, the pitches have an area of 70 to 100 square metres. At the heart of the holiday park is the tropical pool area, which consists of several pools and includes a children's pool with water slides. Those seeking relaxation will get their money's worth in the spa area, while sports enthusiasts can enjoy an active lifestyle in the fitness centre, playing tennis and basketball. Children's laughter can be heard from the four playgrounds scattered around Camping Playa Bara. Just a few steps from the beach, camping holidaymakers will find other services such as a supermarket, restaurant and snack bar. Guests who have travelled by motorhome and still want to be mobile to go on excursions can hire a car directly on site. The city of Tarragona, for example, which is only around 25 kilometres west of Camping Playa Bara, is always worth a visit.
