Beach Close and Hedge Protected
Very good8

Very close to the beach campsite with some pitches directly by the sea. Unfortunately, in the low season (mid-October), almost all offers like entertainment, rolls, etc. were not available. Many pitches are set up as four areas, which are large enough in themselves but difficult to maneuver. Especially with large vehicles, it's tricky to get onto the pitch since the path is bordered by hedges. My personal highlight was the solar-heated pool, which I had all to myself in the low season. A wonderful picture makes the atmosphere at the pool very cozy. The sanitary facilities were also well-maintained and clean. Hot water was plentiful, but it got even hotter whenever a toilet flush was done next door – but such things are part of camper life :) Conclusion: We would come back. Especially as self-caterers in the low season, with no high expectations for program activities, it is a dream place to enjoy the sea and peace!

Dreamy Beach, Cozy Campsite.

We were there at the end of August with 2 children, aged 4 and 7. First of all - the beach is truly amazing. Extensive, super fine sand and very shallow sea access. Therefore, we give it a full 5 stars. With a bit of luck or prior reservation, one can score a spot with a view of the sea. The area is relatively tight, so some camping friends had trouble parking in or out. However, those who can handle their vehicle or even have a maneuvering aid for a caravan should not have any problem. The pitches were somewhat small, which can become an issue when the place is fully booked. The sanitary facilities were very clean and were also regularly cleaned. However, typical for the region, there was no toilet paper or toilet seats, but that is okay. During our stay, the place was full, so one occasionally had to wait at the toilets or showers. The entertainment was audible but not as loud as in other places. At the beginning of September, it was over anyway. There is a great playground with equipment for children of all ages. The pool offers loungers and umbrellas.

Summer Vacation - Never Again

We spent two weeks at LVL last summer. Despite the dimensions (7.5x2.3 meters) of our caravan listed at the booking, the access was so narrow that we scratched one entire side on the huge, old hedges (really dense and well-grown = really thick branches). Without the help of other campers and a lot of maneuvering, we wouldn't have been able to get in... getting out was similar, just with two weeks of consideration on how best to push to get back out... The activities were exclusively in French. German children were ignored and simply left standing. And then the fun often went on until 1 AM at night. The sanitary facilities were cleaned daily. Unfortunately, there is still a lot of mold in the corners. And during Corona - no soap, no toilet paper or toilet seat, no disinfectant! The helpfulness of the reception was zero! We noticed this when my husband's insulin fell, and we were looking for a doctor who understood us. Other (French) campers called for us because the reception staff said we had to sort it out ourselves - such a shame. A little help at that moment would have honestly earned some karmic points! During rain, the electricity was constantly out. In the kiosk, there was always very fresh and delicious baguette as well as chocolate croissants at fair prices in the morning! There were enough washing machines, but even in them, there were algae, etc... The beach, on the other hand, was a dream. Spacious and clean! You could always find a nice spot for your towel, and there was always enough space to build a sandcastle! The little town of Gruissan and the entire area - a dream! You can experience so much nature here that it is hardly surpassable! Shopping opportunities for daily needs were optimally available! Conclusion: Gruissan = wonderful LVL = never ever again

Why 4 stars from ADAC?

We were at the site the last week of October. The pitches are partially large, but also some are difficult to access. The sanitary facilities are outdated in terms of cleanliness, capacity, and age. I don’t want to know what it’s like during the peak season. The location by the beach is very nice.

Solid Campsite with Direct Beach Access
Pleasant6
Corinna
The pitches are great, partly a bit tight to access between hedges. The location is extremely beautiful and quiet (June). With the bike, you are flexible and can also soon reach Gruissan, thanks to a great cycle path that is very easy to ride. For four stars, we would have expected a bit more from the sanitary facilities: No hand soap available, toilet paper and towel dispensers are always empty.

Always again

We visited this site for the first time and were very satisfied despite the late season. Large pitch, good sanitary facilities, and a nice beach. We did not use the swimming pool due to COVID reasons. We will definitely visit this site again in the off-season. However, one should be mobile, as there was nothing to buy on the site (off-season).
