Camping Les Gros Joncs

Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The sanitary facilities were old and in need of renovation. Electrical cables had to be laid across the street. The swimming pool was not clean. The shop was occasionally open and sometimes closed. The restaurant served mostly snacks. The roads were quite narrow for camper vans and the pitches were rather small. Overall cleanliness was mediocre.

Pros

The entire camping team is welcoming, smiling, and always available. I’m looking forward to next year. Location/Accommodation: Impeccable / well situated

Location of the establishment is not far from the beach. Location/Rental accommodation: Nothing too small.

Cons

Renovation of sanitary facilities, maintenance of the pitches (I had to cut down all the bushes growing in the pitch myself), investment in the aquatic area (minimalistic slide, unheated water in the outdoor pool, walls of the outdoor pool showing green and it wasn't old paint). For a 5-star establishment, it's bordering on fraud with misleading advertising. Location/Rental accommodation: The pitch is small, little space to fit two tents and the car.

The campsite does not deserve 5 stars, but barely 2. Location/Rental accommodation: Dated, dirty, and unacceptable for the price paid and the 5-star rating advertised.

Many things need improvement. Location/Rental accommodation: Pool is dirty and cold. Too little animation and information. Outside maintenance is very average. No city park for teenagers.

Fortunately, the team was friendly and warm, although the owners were rarely seen. The location and rental accommodation were decent and provided enough shade.

The sanitary facilities are very outdated, and seeing a rat on the railing of a mobile home was quite shocking. For us, this campsite does not embody the values deserving of a 5-star rating. The pool was not heated and the thalassotherapy was only available until 1 PM, while the lifeguards left at 12:30 PM, leaving no more balneotherapy. I consider this misleading advertising. Luckily, the pool staff, especially Mathilde, were lovely. The girls at the reception and the bar were delightful as well. Overall, we were very disappointed with this 5-star campsite.

The setting and the easy access to the beach. Location/Rental accommodation: Access to the beach.

Cons

Old mobile home, severely damaged terrace furniture, kitchen faucet not working, shower impossible to adjust the water temperature, numerous ants in the toilets along with spiders present upon our arrival. No city park for the young, cold and salty pool. Does not deserve 5 stars, rather 2, and lacks information about activities or organized evenings. Location/Rental accommodation: Dated, lack of cleanliness, see above.
