Dear ANWB, the 5-star rating is indeed justified if you consider the assessments outside the peak season. However, in July/August, it has become unpleasant. The chaos from groups of youth (mainly Dutch but also the youth camp), racing with scooters at speeds of up to 40 km/h where cars cannot exceed 10, the lack of security that does not act (which it doesn’t), dog waste, inexperienced staff in the hospitality sector, the quality of food (which has improved a bit this year), noise disturbances from youth and air conditioning after 11 o'clock, and thefts that have become more the rule than the exception especially at the end of July and August (up to the looting of refrigerators), drug use (joints), vandalism (including the destruction of the central sanitary building) etc. make many visitors dissatisfied. Is it time for a serious re-evaluation of the rating?

The nature-friendly location between Empuriabrava and the Aguamolls nature reserve. The wonderful seemingly endless beach, nudism is therefore also possible. The clean sanitary facilities, 1 newer building and the 3 others have now also been nicely renovated! Due to the natural open layout, you still get the feeling of camping with a certain freedom. Not like usual with asphalted roads and high curbs, and also high hedges, as often encountered in the south of Spain. Of course, many campers here have dogs, which does not bother us. If you don't like that, you should choose places with a dog ban. Tip from us: definitely bring flashlights, as the paths are all very poorly lit. That was actually better in the past. Not suitable for visually impaired or mobility-impaired people! Otherwise, we always enjoy our holidays there.

Very nice campsite. Top sanitary facilities, cleaned multiple times a day. Large pitches. Very friendly staff. Nice pool. Empuriabrava is accessible on foot via the beach. Very well-stocked supermarket. Generous waste disposal for motorhomes. We stood on a quiet pitch by the lagoon. Would love to come back.

The place was good, but otherwise rather Bad dogs, dogs it stinks of urine So many dogs in this area, it felt like everyone had 2 with them. Also, the ADAC card was not accepted Even though they advertise with it everywhere at the reception. One night never again.

Too many dogs. However, the problem lies (also) at the other end of the leash. - A neglected place, aging. For example: mini-golf course soiled, uncleaned.

Sanitary facility was flawless. WLAN costs 20€ for 1 week and you can only register with one device. Very poor, never experienced anything like that.

Large Campsite

The campsite is beautifully situated, right by the beach. Unfortunately, we were assigned a spot opposite a glass container for one night. I only give 3 stars because there were free spots that were not offered to us. What stands out is the many people with dogs on the site. The first thing was that we were 'greeted' by 2 dogs. The playground is large, which I think is good, even though we are retirees and have no children with us, I rate it as good. The site is separated by a body of water. The toilets and showers are new. There is also a supermarket at the site. The price in the low season is a bit high at over 30 €, including tourist tax, but it’s still acceptable. ACSI is not accepted, but the ADAC card is accepted. However, the costs are 4 euros above what is stated in the ADAC Camping Guide. The proximity to Empuriabrava is good, and the town is reachable on foot in a few minutes via the beach.

More info about Camping Laguna
Situated on the Golf de Roses, Camping Laguna is the perfect destination for all individual holidaymakers who want to feel at home in Spain and prefer a natural environment. A fine sandy beach borders directly on the family-friendly site. The town of Empuriabrava with its numerous shopping and entertainment options is also not far away. Passionate anglers can take advantage of the rich fishing grounds on site.
Beach holidays in Spain - at Camping Laguna
Camping fans have been spending relaxing days here with their motorhome or caravan since 1968. The atmosphere at the 4.5-star campsite has always been characterised by friendly interaction and courteous service. High standards, especially in terms of cleanliness, are just as popular with guests as the many leisure facilities. Holidaymakers also appreciate the location on the beach in the north-east of the "Aiguamolls de l'Empordà" nature reserve. Guided horse rides, cycle tours and hikes are the best way to explore the marvellous natural surroundings. The dog-friendly Camping Laguna, which is open seasonally, has its own riding school. The beach is a great place for sports, with beach volleyball and surfing among the favourite activities. Camping holidaymakers like to meet up on the football pitch or play a tennis match. Accuracy is required for boccia (boules) and mini golf. With a little patience and the right equipment, guests can catch their own dinner in the campsite's own fishing pond. Some of the 713 pitches are located right next to the fishing pond. All of the pitches on the 14.5-hectare campsite, which measure between 70 and 110 square metres, are equipped with an electricity connection and the majority also have fresh water connections. Those who like travelling online will be delighted with the Wi-Fi on site. If you work up an appetite, the beach or pool bar, the ice-cream stand and the restaurant will cater for you.
Organise your days in a variety of ways
Guests can relax and enjoy sunbathing on the beach, let off steam with the children in the playgrounds and set off on long bike rides. If you have left your bike at home, you can easily hire one on site. Holidaymakers can easily reach Empuriabrava on the other side of the river La Muga via a bridge. The relatively modern settlement, barely older than the campsite itself, is characterised above all by its maritime flair and has a number of small jetties and a large marina. To the west of the settlement, the butterfly park invites you to visit, while those interested in culture can visit the regional agricultural museum not far away.
