When I travel with the caravan, I often refer to well-rated campsites from the ADAC. That's why I know what to expect. However, this campsite is totally overrated and ultimately a disappointment. A huge campsite with 80% cabins without a restaurant. Cleanliness of the toilet blocks is mediocre, and the ADAC discount was not accepted either. When I compare this with other campsites with 4.5 stars, I don't understand how this campsite gets a good rating.

We were there as a group of four with a dog for a week during peak travel season. We had booked a pitch for a large caravan in the front row by the lake. However, due to various circumstances, we were traveling this year with a car and roof tent, which turned out to be good, as the access roads and the pitch would not have accommodated the large setup. The pitches are bounded by newly planted, but seemingly rarely watered, partly withered perennials, which due to their height offer no privacy yet. Neither water nor wastewater is directly at the pitch; you have to walk some distance. Instead of a view of the lake, there was only a view of the tall hedge; just behind it is the public beach with a restaurant, which creates a permanent noise backdrop from the early morning hours, including deliveries with the refrigerated truck, back-and-forth movement of garbage bins, evening glass waste disposal, loud groups of students during the day, and a smell of fries from noon onward. The campsite is characterized by a huge landscape of mobile homes. The beach and the parched sunbathing lawn are very overcrowded on hot days, even with people who do not belong to the campsite; there are no checks of the wristbands. The bank areas with taller grass are used by guests as toilets. Sanitary facilities: mostly clean, but empty towel boxes were not refilled for days in some cases. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful but does not always understand our concerns, which we tried to communicate in English, with gestures and miming. For the dogs present, there is essentially nothing available, no dog waste stations, no bins for their droppings, no reasonable walking paths; there is a faded no-dogs sign at the beach, although it was advertised in the brochure that dogs could frolic on the beach. Just outside the site, there is a public grocery store, which sometimes has gas station prices, so it’s advisable to continue to the next town. The free bus advertised by the tourist info ends 4 km before Doussard; if it’s free, then it should be for everyone. There is still plenty of room for improvement in many areas; we will not come back.

We wanted to spend another 4 nights here on our way home and were deceived by the website. First of all, especially because it is more important than ever during corona times, THERE IS NO SOAP IN THE TOILETS and NO TOILET PAPER and there is also NO FREE POOL, it is available for a fee in the wellness area. The playground shown is much smaller than in the pictures and the bouncy castles are quite worn out. There are also no holders in the toilets, no idea where people are supposed to put their rolls? The disinfectant stand is very dirty by the evening. For all with children under 1.50m, the children cannot reach the sinks to wash their hands on their own! Last but not least, the sanitary facilities were dirty, completely worn out, and in no way correspond to a 4-star place. The camping toilet has to be emptied on the main path without any privacy screens and the beach is a small urban beach that is completely overcrowded and dirty in the sun. We are disappointed and give one star for the water playground. P.S.: Buy at the supermarkets along the way, completely overpriced at the site!

On its own, nothing wrong with it, but what a massiveness!!! Countless mobile homes (also crammed closely together) dominate the site and give it a somewhat refugee camp-like appearance. Facilities are okay.

Directly at the lake with a great view. Sanitary facilities are basic and not always clean. At night, you can hear the road. Everything is still acceptable, except for a number of holidaymakers (unfortunately only Germans) who think they can do anything. Respect for others is foreign to them. Remarkable that they are "Homo sapiens" aged between 40 and 65 years.

We were in connection with a flight safety training of my husband together with our two teenage kids in Doussard (We in the camper van - the kids each in a tent). The campsite has a great location right by the lake and at one of the landing sites. The supermarket is equipped with the essentials and has super delicious dark bread! The campsite itself has a few bouncy castles for children and there is also a playground by the lake. The sanitary facilities were okay - I didn't like that the showers were so open (the shower cubicles were directly between the entrance and the noticeboard - this made it very drafty while showering - we always went to the middle sanitary building - it was not so cold there) At night, it was already very cold at the beginning of September and next time I would take a heating blanket for the tents. Because the school holidays in France were already over, the leisure activities outside were only limited (climbing park, for example, only on weekends) - this should definitely be taken into account with two teenagers. There are several shopping centers in Annecy, and the city is generally very nice. The mountains and thus the hiking possibilities are great! Our kids also tried a tandem flight, for instance - if there is no flight school at the campsite, you can find tandem flyers at the landing site in Doussard. I thought it was great that all the flight students there received a discount on the pitch price. The pitches were freely selectable at the time we were there. The proximity to the lake was important to us. It is very quiet on the site - ideal for relaxing in between. Right by the lake, there is a (somewhat expensive) pizzeria (€9 for a Margherita pizza). Fries and other snacks are available there for lunch and in the afternoon (unfortunately not in the evening). The next larger supermarket is about 4 km away on the way to Annecy.

Unfortunately, we arrived a bit too late but the security still let us in and we were able to enjoy the free choice of seating. The campsite is divided into parcels and open (without disturbing bushes/hedges). Ideal for excursions for hiking, cycling, or paragliding. The sanitary facilities are simple but clean.
