Camping La Baume - La Palmeraie

The first impression gets no second chance… 5 stars… for what? Just arrived and already thinking about leaving early. The sanitary facilities are completely outdated, filthy, toilets without a seat… at 25° the heaters are on. The whole facility looks completely neglected. Paths are dirty, hedges and bushes have not been trimmed for months. And then you are forced to eat in the restaurant. There is no cooking area with gas or charcoal; electric grills are also not allowed. Only tolerated if you have a stone surface underneath. Sorry, I don’t bring paving stones on vacation to be able to cook. We have already lost the fun, so we don’t even want to look at the pools. However, this would not significantly improve the rating, as the rest is catastrophic.

We were there at the end of May, many free spots, therefore very quiet and nice under the pines. Lots of shade and large areas. It is right next to the highway, but it was okay for us. The pool area is beautifully laid out with several large pools and slides. The pools are not heated. Our children enjoyed it very much, unfortunately, everything is a bit dated, especially the sanitary facilities. Cleanliness could use some improvement.

Clean, quiet, child-friendly. Located directly on the highway, but it was hardly audible. Includes swimming pools.

Beautiful large camping site with spacious, shady pitches. Many rented mobile homes/tents/cabins. Great swimming pools, very nicely designed in magnificent palm gardens. Good shopping opportunities for daily needs, bars and the restaurant offer everything you need. Sanitary facilities are okay, cleanliness could improve. Since the site is located near the highway in the front area, you can clearly hear the traffic noise. This is not the case in the back area. Conclusion: nice site, can be confidently accessed.

The place was overall very clean. Great layout and something for every age. We stayed in a large bungalow that was comfortable and clean. Everything was satisfactory.

We were thrilled with the first impression of the entrance and reception and looked forward to what was behind it...how can this place have 5* and also be top-rated by ADAC? You expect more from a 5*. Old sanitary facilities, cleaned only once a day, missing soap dispensers, extremely loud due to the motorway. The pool area is beautifully done, but here too, there are no sunshades, not a single one!

We were not satisfied with the location. There is only one reception and access for the entire area. All car traffic to the 550 (!) mobile homes/holiday homes goes along a narrow road next to the caravan pitches. We counted up to 15 cars in 5 minutes multiple times! This is very uncomfortable and loud. The highway directly adjacent to the area is shielded by a high wall. Depending on the wind direction, it can be heard more or less - sometimes very disturbing at night. In several toilets, the flush did not work - or the water kept running at high pressure. Biking tours starting directly from the campsite are dangerous due to the lack of bike paths. The swimming pools made a good impression, but further information is not possible as we did not go swimming.
