This campsite scores with its idyllic location in the middle of the forest right by a river. Campers particularly enjoy the shady, spacious pitches and the relaxed, natural atmosphere. The swimming pool and the friendly team are also highly appreciated. Good to know for your trip: Anyone heading here should keep in mind that the nearest large supermarket is quite a distance away.

The environment is incredible. Location/Accommodation: Well arranged.
Location/Accommodation: Number 48 is a bit too enclosed in the underbrush and could use some trimming around the terrace, and it would be perfect.

We had a pleasant stay at this large and peaceful campsite. There are more than enough facilities for children, the restaurant is good, and the entertainment is well organised. Emplacement/Hébergement locatif: Largely
Emplacement/Hébergement locatif: However, we were disappointed that our premium pitch did not match the description on the website. It states: “The PREMIUM PITCHES, with a surface area of up to 200 m², are located on the edge of the forest with an unobstructed view of the organic farmland and the Vercors mountain range.” Unfortunately, our pitch did not have that unobstructed view. Before arrival, you do receive photos of your pitch by email, but if you have never been to the campsite before, it is difficult to judge what the actual view will be from those pictures. Since you pay extra for a premium pitch…

Spacious camping site with plenty of shade, a nice pool, and enjoyable loungers by the river. The restaurant is good, especially the pizzas which are delicious!
The sanitary facilities are in need of renovation and should be cleaned more frequently, especially during the high season. The floors around the pool get very hot and are rough, causing cuts on the children's toes. I expected more from the campsite shop. The power outlet is far away, so a long extension cord is quite useful. There is no water tap at the location.

Lovely pool, friendly and helpful staff, great location. Pitch/Accommodation: Stunning view, spacious spot. Conveniently close to everything. Quiet on the campsite after 11 PM.
S1 is really due for an upgrade. Washing-up water needs to be warm, even at S2 (currently not using S2 due to a hot water issue). The holes in the toilet bowl are meant for a toilet seat; so please do that. In that regard, the French are really silly; why don’t you do that? It would be nice to have a water point by sites 1 to 4. Pitch/Accommodation: S1 is really not okay anymore, and since S2 had no hot water, we had to go to S3 for everything. It's quite a walk with your dishes. But the lack of toilet seats should be the top priority.

The view over the fields, the pitches are incredibly private due to the dense forest, the tranquility of the campsite, a lovely river, and a beautiful swimming pool. Pitch/Rental Accommodation: This was amazing. We are spoiled for other campsites. Very satisfied.
Nothing. Pitch/Rental Accommodation: Nothing.

A great advantage of this campsite is the spacious pitches, the activities, the evening music, and the friendly staff. The little things make a difference. A warm welcome upon arrival and departure adds to the experience. There’s also a focus on children's activities. No mass entertainment, just small-scale and accessible. Our children loved it, and so did we :-). The campsite is lovingly managed by the owner. 🤱 Pitch/Accommodation: Situated by the river, everything is available. It's great that everything is clean upon arrival, this is important. The BBQ is enjoyable and the sun loungers are comfortable.
Pitch/Accommodation: The mattresses are too hard. It might be worth investing in new, better mattresses. In the evening, the 'big light' in the room is very bright. I was looking for a small lamp to create some ambiance in the chalet; that would be a nice addition.

Spacious camping spots and well-laid-out huts, fortunately not placed in a strictly uniform manner but scattered throughout the tree-rich area. Great swimming pools for both adults and children. A river next to the campsite offers swimming opportunities and the chance to build stone dams, etc. A nice restaurant serving pizzas, pastas, burgers, salads, etc. Site/Rental accommodation: Lovely wooden house with character, not a plastic mobile home... air conditioning is pleasant when it's 35+ degrees.
The campsite is narrow and very long; if you're standing at the back, it takes over 10 minutes to walk to the swimming pool/restaurant. A scooter or bike is definitely a luxury you wouldn't want to miss...

Surrounded by dense trees and high mountains, Camping l'Hirondelle promises peace and relaxation in a picturesque landscape. Campers can enjoy a relaxing holiday here, with plenty of variety thanks to the wide range of sports on offer.
Camping l'Hirondelle has three heated outdoor swimming pools, which guarantee a welcome cool-down in the warm summer months. Aerobics and aquafitness classes are also regularly offered here, allowing holidaymakers to keep fit. There is also a paddling pool for children at the resort. This is surrounded by deckchairs so that parents can relax while their children play in the shallow water. In the warm summer months, we recommend taking a walk to the nearby River Bès. Some stretches of sandy shore offer perfect conditions for bathing and splashing around for campers of all ages.
The site is located in the French department of Auvergne-Rhônes-Alpes in the south-east of the country. The high mountains of the Alps can be seen from the campsite and offer a spectacular view. The immediate surroundings are characterised by dense tree cover and the nearest village of Menglon is around 3.5 km away. Thanks to the campsite's own grocery shop, holidaymakers don't have to leave Camping l'Hirondelle to do their shopping. The site also has a kiosk, a snack bar and a restaurant and offers a bread roll service for breakfast. The pitches at Camping l'Hirondelle all have their own spacious plots. Alternatively, the campsite rents out well-equipped mobile homes, tents, bungalows and cabins. Dogs are also welcome and holidaymakers can look forward to a varied sports and leisure programme. The programme includes pony riding, archery, mini golf and sports courses. There is also a fitness room at Camping l'Hirondelle. Bicycles and e-bikes can be hired at the campsite, which can be used to go on scenic day trips along the Bés. Naturally, travellers have access to fast Wi-Fi and the sanitary facilities are not only modern and well-maintained, but also accessible for guests with limited mobility. For excursions in the region, we recommend hiking through the mountains in the Vercors National Park or various water sports in the Drome Valley. Campers can experience exciting trips along impressive waterfalls by canoe or kayak.
