Family-run Camping Joan with direct beach access and a large pool

Camping Joan is located directly on the wide and fine sandy beach of La Ardiaca near the small town of Cambrils on the Spanish Mediterranean coast. Here guests can enjoy a beach and family holiday in a relaxed atmosphere. Dogs are also welcome at this pet-friendly campsite, which has its own dog shower. Campers benefit from electricity and WIFI on all 210 pitches. If you don't want to travel to the Spanish Mediterranean coast with your own tent, caravan or mobile home, you can choose between various rental accommodation options with space for up to six people. On request, guests can book their pitch with half or full board. The two restaurants, Restaurant del Mar Xiringuito and La Palmera, serve delicious Mediterranean food, with all dishes also available to take away. There are two beaches at Camping Joan for bathing fun. Families can splash around and build sandcastles on the gently sloping shore. Water lovers can also cool off in the large pool, where aqua aerobics are organised regularly. There are also two children's pools with slides. There is also a playground where children can let off steam. During the Easter holidays and in high season, the cute mascot Joni is there for the little ones. The friendly staff at the mini club lovingly look after the youngsters with craft workshops and games. Pedalo and kayak hire rounds off the leisure activities on offer.

Excursions in and around Cambrils

If you want to get to know the popular Costa Dorada holiday region in an active way, hire a bike at the campsite and cycle along the cycle path that runs right past the campsite to the former fishing village of Cambrils, which has retained its original charm. For a longer tour or an excursion by car, the city of Tarragona is around 20 kilometres from Camping Joan. Here, guests can stroll through the historic centre, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Cathedral of Santa Maria is a landmark with a large rose window and rich sculptural decoration. Just a 15-minute drive from the campsite, PortAventura World in Vila-seca attracts visitors with breathtaking roller coasters and fascinating themed worlds from different countries such as Mexico and China.
