Neglected Campsite

We spent 6 months at this campsite as permanent campers and would like to share our experiences. The Swiss manager is extremely unfriendly towards us Germans. This site is mostly occupied by Swiss people and serves as cheap accommodation for retirees from Switzerland. The restroom in the old sanitary building is regularly dirty and rarely clean. The building smells musty and looks worn out. The whole campsite gives an unkempt impression. Many pitches are overgrown. There is no fence around the campsite, and it is freely accessible to everyone. As permanent campers, we have to pay a second residence tax of 200 euros per year in addition to the pitch rental. We are glad that we found another campsite where we feel better and were also welcomed kindly by the campsite operator.

Good campsite along the Rhine

Quiet camping, green, many excursions possible. Clean. Child-friendly.

From the perspective of permanent campers:

The operator of the site is the Frehner family. The older gentleman is very accustomed to being demanding. Kindness is quite impossible. The plots have neither drainage nor supply. Fresh water must be transported with a watering can from the tap location to the sanitary facilities. Many issues are raised, with the tone making a significant difference. As a guest, one would expect that the site landlords would behave professionally! Some plot tenants have left the camp, either voluntarily or involuntarily.

Beautiful site and many possibilities around in the area... shopping opportunities nearby and the fact that it has a pool on the site I find great :) playground for children is well maintained! Anyone who complains about the age of others is not a camper! One should become aware again of what camping means and otherwise go to a hotel! There are many who exaggerate here with bad ratings. I recommend this site :)

Great Camping Directly on the Rhine
Superb10
Katja
A super beautiful campsite directly on the Rhine. Owners are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a day off on Mondays and Tuesdays in summer. Shopping possibilities are reachable on foot. Reviews saying there is no electricity are complete nonsense! Sanitary facilities are very clean.

Nicely located site, poor management

Site operators and staff very unfriendly. Many long-term campers of an older age. You don't feel welcome. Sanitary facilities dirty, children's playground run down. Restaurant mostly closed. Electricity doesn't work. We will never come here again.

The place is nice. Restaurant closed on Monday and Tuesday during the season. The senior groundskeeper is very unfriendly. The sanitary facilities are not clean. We will never travel there again.
