A heated pool surrounded by greenery and a variety of leisure activities provide holiday fun for the whole family at Camping Hitjesvijver in Heerlen in the Dutch province of Limburg. The tree-lined campsite is open all year round and offers caravan and motorhome pitches as well as chalets, mobile homes and glamping tents for hire. Younger guests can enjoy their own paddling pool and playground. In high season, an entertainment programme including covered wagon rides, games and night swimming provides variety. Not far from the campsite, the wooded Brunssummerheide invites you to go hiking and cycling. It is also worth taking a trip to the archaeological thermal museum in Heerlen, 5 km away, which commemorates 400 years of Roman bathing culture in South Limburg. The nearby moated castle of Hoensbroek is also ideal for travelling back in time.

Gladly Again
At the end of May, I was there for 3 days. The reception was very friendly. The site is very beautiful and well-spread out. Nice restaurant ... I didn't try it since it was only opened on my last day. Supermarket and restaurants are within walking distance. The sanitary facilities are okay ... a bit… More

Nice destination for a camping weekend
We had a great weekend at the large, beautifully located comfort site 11. Bathrooms and showers can be a bit scarce during peak times, but there are plenty of facilities for kids - playground, swimming pool, and animal enclosure...
