Camping Herrfallet

The location is dreamily beautiful and as described, wonderful for nature lovers, anglers, and co. (Fishing for everyone is free). There are no shopping opportunities nearby and the kiosk/shop offers little and only opens at 11:00 AM (until 6:00 PM max), so it’s best to arrive well-stocked. The reception is only staffed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This should be noted if you want to get your deposit back for the key card upon departure. There are no good cleaning facilities for campers. Service and friendliness are not a priority here. The facility is a little dated, and it seems that no investment is being made, but the stunningly beautiful location saves the whole thing. However, you shouldn’t expect too much from the rest. Oh, and no Wi-Fi 😢

The place is very idyllic on a peninsula. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities are completely outdated. The same goes for the rental cabins. Nothing seems to have happened here in the last 20 years (except for the installation of readers for the hot water billing). The only family shower in the house at the reception (20 SEK for 20 minutes) is modern and up to today's technical standards. What also stands out and is unacceptable in today's times (also at other Swedish campsites) is that if you do not need mains electricity (and thus save resources), you are gratefully referred to marginal sites. The nice spots are reserved for power consumers. Exception: you pay for the electricity you don't need. How does this align with Swedish environmental awareness?

We were very satisfied with the place. Unfortunately, we were there in autumn and no activities for children were offered at that time. Very quiet location with many opportunities for walking, especially if you have a dog like we do. The staff is very friendly. We will definitely come back in summer!!!

Simply and practically furnished cottages with a view of the lake. Sandy beaches and canoes. The shop is open during the Swedish holidays. Large restaurant. Campsites are quite tight for Swedish standards, Germans appreciate the space around the tent. Lots of nature. One point less because it is still in the condition of 2000.

The evaluation of my preparation has nothing to add.

The sanitary facilities could use an update. The motorhome service station is hard to find, but you will eventually find it in the woods. The parking spaces (2 rows right by the beach) get flooded when it rains!!! This is mentioned at the reception without any inquiry. Nothing is offered in the pre-season (no restaurant, no shop, nothing). The site is great by the water and very quiet.
