Unfortunately, the basics are missing

Unfortunately a basic error at more than 150 pitches only 10 toilets where most have a shower in combination means always in the queue..... That at a half-full site! At full ones, are we all going into the woods? WiFi doesn't work either (it's normal, all seasonal campers have a 5g antenna) For the showers, you have to hold your card every minute and it costs 20 cents per minute... Very exaggerated to charge like that. So a nice place, cool beach nearby but the basics are not there.

Very well-maintained campsite in the greenery

In the second half of August 2023, we stayed for two nights with a motorhome at this campsite. Since the high season was already over, we were able to get our desired spot (right by the playground and close to the service building) even without a reservation; otherwise, it's better to book in advance. The campsite is quite spacious and varied, very well-kept, and idyllically located in a nature reserve right by the sea (but without a sea view), where you can hike, swim, or also kite surf. The service buildings are very modern, clean, and sufficiently available. There are also various recreational rooms: in the kitchen, there are two dining tables (and a television), there's a library with two reading chairs, an internet café, and a gaming hall under the roof with free air hockey, billiards, table football, a car simulator, and a ping pong table. At the reception, there is a small shop (rolls available every day during high season, outside season on pre-order), next to it a small bistro (also open daily during high season, outside only on weekends). You can play mini-golf or rent go-karts, or book the sauna. Wi-Fi is free throughout the campsite. We had a lovely time there.

Beautiful place in a good location

Beautiful place, ideally situated to explore Stockholm and its archipelago. But the immediate surroundings of the place are great as well. You can hike very nicely, find hidden bathing spots, and frequently observe wildlife. We really enjoyed it.

A beautifully located campsite. The sanitary facilities were very clean. The pitches were large and the site was not overcrowded even in the high season.

Stockholm within Reach, Archipelago at Your Doorstep
Very good8

The spacious area with tree cover is ideal for camper van, motorhome, or tent tourists who want to explore the greater Stockholm area and the archipelago. Good to very good sanitary facilities, small shop at the reception. Friendly and professional reception staff. The city of Stockholm is easily accessible by public transport or car (approximately 30 - 90 minutes). Very quiet location at night. During the day, with suitable weather, there may be slightly more activity due to bathers. Highly recommended site.

In the picturesque province of Södermansland to the south of Stockholm, guests at Camping Gålö Havsbad experience a holiday in unspoilt nature. A small sandy beach right next to the campsite invites you to cool off in the sea. During the summer months, there is a varied entertainment programme for children and sports activities for adults. A mini-golf course, sauna and boat hire round off the leisure facilities.
Camping Gålö Havsbad close to nature right on the beach
Just a 30-minute drive from the Swedish capital Stockholm, Camping Gålö Havsbad offers peace and relaxation in a unique nature reserve. The extensive, 9-hectare, slightly undulating site borders directly on the Baltic Sea. The 150 mostly parcelled out pitches are surrounded by trees and offer plenty of space with 80 to 120 square metres. If you are not travelling with your own caravan or motorhome, you can rent one of the romantic wooden cabins or a mobile home. Dogs are very welcome at the pet-friendly campsite. A dog shower is available for them. The location by the sea makes this campsite so popular. Families with children in particular enjoy splashing around on the sandy beach and building castles. Camping Gålö Havsbad also offers pedal boat and rowing boat hire. At the heart of the campsite, a bistro invites you to recharge your batteries and socialise. The mini golf course is located directly in front of the restaurant. There is also a sauna and a recreation room on the extensive grounds. In summer, children can romp around in the mini club and take part in a colourful entertainment programme. Adults can enjoy Zumba and yoga classes in the fresh air with professional trainers.
On a discovery tour in versatile Södermanland
Guests can start their hikes through the extensive forest area directly from the campsite. With a bit of luck, you might even spot moose and other wild animals. If you want to find out more about the animal species in Södermanland, pay a visit to Tyresta National Park, 20 kilometres from the campsite. There is a family-friendly nature trail here, which is 3 kilometres long and features information boards in Swedish and English about the regional flora and fauna. The unspoilt national park is enchanting with its primeval coniferous forests, clear lakes and rare birds such as capercaillie and owls. Thanks to its location just a 30-minute drive from Stockholm, Camping Gålö Havsbad is also ideal for those who want to combine their camping holiday with a trip to the Swedish capital and visit Stockholm's sights such as the castle or Gamla stan.
