Camping Fusina Venezia

We had chosen the spot to see Venice. We had booked 4 nights at the lagoon but moved on after 2 nights. The spot at the lagoon is secured with a chain. The key is obtained at check-in. The sanitary facilities in the main building have always been clean. The other old ones outside are underground. The entire outdoor area, like the sinks for washing dishes, needs to be completely renovated. The mini market has everything you need and the staff are very friendly. There is nothing around the spot. You end up in an industrial area and the planes fly all day long, which didn't bother us, though. It was always a spectacle when the container ships passed by. The spot is highly recommended for exploring Venice by boat, which departs every hour around the corner. We didn't use the pool.

Good parking spots, but unfortunately miserable sanitation facilities, poor cleaning, and dirt in the shower and toilets to get used to. Oh dear. The restaurant is more of a snack bar with a sometimes grumpy owner and staff. However, the pizza was delicious, breakfast was Italian after all ;) Directly near the harbor, the day starts early. AND airplane noise! SHIP AND PLANE watching... Well. We were there for 2 nights and could explore Venice well, but the last boat leaves at 7:30 PM! Catastrophe! If the weather is nice, you have to leave! So in short, not again!

Fraud, deposit was not refunded although promised according to booking conditions.

We reserved a parking space for 5 days and also made a deposit for it. Unfortunately, we had to cancel, which, according to the camping site's conditions, is also problem-free. However, we have not received the deposit back to this day, emails are being ignored and not replied to. For me, this behavior is unacceptable.

After reading so many negative reports about the sanitation facilities here, I must say: they are not dreadful and horrible, yes a bit older (not like a freshly renovated bathroom at home 😉) but everything was always clean. Sunrise - sunset with a view of Venice is simply spectacular. Between 8 AM and 8 PM, a boat goes to Venice at the top of the hour and returns at half past the hour. There is free seating; only the seats directly on the lagoon should be booked well in advance. Minimarket, pizzeria, and bar = top. Restaurant overpriced for what comes out of the kitchen. Overall, prices are higher than in other parts of Italy, but it is Venice😉.

We booked a spot right by the lagoon for the view, the spots are blocked off with a chain that you receive upon booking at the reception! We really liked it, as we didn’t actually want to have strangers on our plot all the time. We used the pool one afternoon, underground! - milky water, but there were probably just too many people in the pool due to the heat for the water quality to hold up. The sanitation facilities are underground... there are 3 different areas, in the building the showers were extremely small, clothes got wet, the container was always dirty when I visited it, and in the old showers, you couldn’t touch anything, but at least there was space! In the restaurant as well as at the reception, the staff was very polite. We would use the spot right by the lagoon again for a trip to Venice despite everything, actually only because of the view!!! ...we liked the pizza!

The sanitary facilities were more than just a disaster. Extremely outdated and not really clean either. The showers are small, outdoors, and can only be closed with a small wooden door that has a hook hanging on it. The previously highly praised pool can only be used with a swim cap, which was never mentioned before, and every 5 minutes an airplane flies overhead during landing. On weekends, loud music can constantly be heard from the party boat that docks directly across (even on Sundays). The only positive aspect of the site was its location at the ferry terminal to reach Venice, the friendly staff, and shady spots.

We have now used the campsite for the second time as a starting point for a trip to Venice. The site has not changed since 2017, and even then the sanitary facilities were already old, but fairly clean. The two actually nice playgrounds could not be used properly because they were full of pigeon droppings. Free choice of pitches on several shady meadows and some plots directly by the water. From our spot on the meadow, we had a wonderful view of the sea. We found the large freighters and ferries coming in and out of the port exciting; we could hear the planes, but they did not disturb us. We found the pizza on site - especially for the price - unconvincing.
