Good campsite with restrooms needing improvement

We had a great spot by the lake. The other sites were under trees but were not as nice in terms of location. The restroom facilities were not in the best condition. There are good shopping options in Mariestad, just 10 minutes by bike.

Unkempt Campsite

The campsite is overall quite unkempt. The grass areas throughout the site are unmowed, and the sanitary facilities are dirty. For two days now, the water for washing dishes has been cold - not even lukewarm. Despite numerous complaints, nothing has changed. This is hard to understand, as the service building otherwise has a very good standard and is well equipped. Otherwise, the location right by the lake is very nice, especially if you have a pitch by the water. We will not be recommending this site.

A really nice place, everything that needs to be said has already been mentioned. If you ever have problems with your motorhome, I recommend JP Bil & Service, 0046736479053, Hammarsmedsgstan 5. Jimmy helped us out with ease. He's a really nice guy.

Very large area. Very nice place. Book a spot by the lake. Sanitary facilities were cleaned daily. In September, it was already very empty. In the summer, they also have a special program for children.

Nice place with a good location

Very spacious area, mostly grass and many trees. Of course, it gets a bit muddy when it rains. Most of the paths are not paved. The campsite is located next to a nature reserve and right by the lake. Small gravel beach, but also various docks to the water. Bistro and kiosk available. Several sanitary buildings on the campsite, in one building the showers are a bit cramped. Toilets and showers were always clean. The reception is very helpful. Disposal is located at the exit, so it doesn't disturb. Next to the campsite is a public swimming pool. Mariestadt is easily accessible. A nice place from which to do a lot of activities.

Good location, too few showers

Manfred
Ok high season... but way too few showers in relation to sold spaces. Of the 4 showers for men, one was still broken. The shower stall was about 60 cm wide, the "bench" just barely wider than a hand's breadth. I think this does not meet the standard of First Camp camping sites. Otherwise, the lakeside location is very picturesque. Old tree stock in the front part, the rear probably newer section for RVs and caravans is sunless. One should not expect a sandy beach. In a cove, finer gravel was spread out. That’s it. The rest are slippery rocks. Sweden is just not blessed with beaches, you take what you get.

Beautiful, spacious site
Very good8

Extensive grounds, something for every taste. Forest or right by the water. Nature reserve directly from the site. City reachable on foot. Service, bistro etc. limited in the off-season.

Beautiful location directly by the lake
Very good8
Britta
The site is right by the lake with a public bathing area in a forested area. Adjacent to the public outdoor swimming pool, which makes it partly a bit louder. Ideal for children, as it is located far from the main road. Minigolf on site. Clean sanitary facilities with a nice common room for campers, and the town is easily accessible on foot, by bicycle, or even by kayak. In the off-season, the reception is only staffed on weekends. Bookings can then only be made somewhat awkwardly by phone. Small shop in the high season.
