Camping du Poulquer in Bénodet is located in the Finistère department on the windswept coast of Brittany. Thanks to its cycle routes, the campsite is particularly suitable for sporty holidaymakers.
A campsite near the beach for active holidaymakers
Thanks to its location on the beach at Bénodet in Brittany, Camping du Poulquer is a real magnet for active holidaymakers who appreciate the variety of water sports on offer. The campsite is located in the historic Cornouaille countryside, one of the most beautiful regions in the Finistère department in the far north-west of France. From the pitches and rental accommodation, guests have a wonderful view over the sea. The extensive water park includes a pool, an adventure pool, a swimming pool with a sliding roof and a paddling pool for young campers. Visitors can also relax in the wellness area with sauna, whirlpool and steam bath. The pitches are located on the grassy area and are separated by hedges; each pitch has an electricity connection. There is a snack bar and a kiosk on the campsite, and guests can also pick up fresh bread in the morning. In the evenings, you can socialise in the lounge. There is a playground for children where they can let off steam. The campsite facilities include a water slide, and snorkelling and windsurfing are also permitted on the site. Not far from the campsite is the modern Bluegreen l'Odet golf course in the middle of a lovely wooded area.
Cycling tours and hikes around Camping du Poulquer
Camping holidaymakers start their discovery tour in the area around the campsite in Bénodet, a small community by the sea. In the picturesque harbour, you can watch the yachts sail in and out, and in the summer months it is a lively place in the evenings, when many small discos and cafés are open late into the night. The ferry takes you to Sainte-Marine on the opposite bank of the River Odet with its gleaming white lighthouse. Just north of the campsite, the Expéria Park Bénodet high ropes course welcomes visitors of all ages. The surrounding wooded hinterland is also ideal for hiking. There are also numerous picturesque cycle paths, including the route to Combrit and back. Around 20 km from Bénodet is the famous holiday resort of Concarneau with its old town surrounded by thick stone walls. If you head west, you will find yourself in Pont-l'Abbé. The 4 km long towpath takes you past former tide mills and the promenade is also a popular birdwatching spot. If you want, you can cycle to the village of Kerveltrec in around 40 minutes. The Roche Percée, the pierced rock, is enthroned here in the tidal waters. Here you can explore the region wonderfully by bike and soak up the rays of the Breton sun at the Plage de Mener or the Plage de Kerler.
