Very good location, steep camping meadow

August 2022

The site has a perfect location for a city trip to Brussels, Waterloo is not far away and the Walibi amusement park can be reached by car in about 10 minutes. The drive to and on the site was okay. We traveled with a wheelchair user and requested a plot. Upon arrival, we were offered a freely selectable spot on one of the camping meadows. After consulting with the owner, we were told that the plots outside the meadow were exclusively for permanent campers. OK! I didn't even know that motorhomes and German caravans from vacationers are permanent campers! We found this very unfortunate, as the path to the shower and toilet for a wheelchair over a muddy meadow was very difficult. The site itself was a normal campsite and functional. The sanitary facilities were cleaned by an external company, showers cost 1 Euro and signs indicate that hot water is only available from a gas boiler as long as the supply lasts - we had no problems. There were many defective electrical connections on the sloping meadow. The meadow was very muddy due to rain, and caravans, motorhomes, and even cars had trouble getting back up - the wheels were spinning. However, the owner helps with a jeep if there are problems. Definitely bring wedges and blocks - the meadow is very steep! Why is there no terrace laid out on this meadow or at least gravel for driving on?! If we were in the area again, we would probably aim for a different site, even though the location of the site is almost perfect.
