Family campsite Camping de Molenhof is located in the heart of Twente, not far from the German border. Here you can experience an unforgettable camping holiday with the whole family, because the campsite is a real paradise, especially for children! Children can let off steam on over 30 playgrounds - some of which are even covered, so that even in bad weather they can still let off steam. The campsite pool is a great place to cool off: Here the grown-ups can relax while sunbathing, while the little ones can play in the water. The immediate surroundings of Camping De Molenhof are ideal for hiking or exploring by bike.
Children are welcome here: There are more than 30 playgrounds as well as the 'PlonsPlas', a large water play and paddling area on an island accessible via a wobbly bridge.
Indoor pool with retractable roof. Imaginatively designed washrooms for children. Gemstone washing facility for children (Mollies Modder Mijn). Located on hiking and cycling trails.

The showers were cold or the water didn’t work at all. On the site, it felt like being in a disco with loud music everywhere even after 11:00 PM. The restrooms were very dirty, with a used condom left in the shower area for days. The mini-market was very small with hardly any selection. It felt like the dining area was run by school children, resulting in everything being very slow and showing clear signs of being overwhelmed. I would not visit this place again. However, the playgrounds were okay and well-maintained.

We were also on site for the Easter holidays for a week. The swimming pool was cold, the sanitary facilities too. The bistro on the site was only open on weekends. The prices for rolls were massively overpriced. But.. for the kids, it is nice. There are plenty of playgrounds, and if you ask my kids, they liked it. For swimming, we went to a swimming pool just across the border in Germany. That was nice and warm 😁. The staff is always friendly and the place is quite clean. The go-karts could use a bit more love. I had to tighten all the screws during our first visit.

We were there over Easter. Unfortunately, the swimming pool, as well as the sanitary facilities, were way too cold. (So cold that we left after 10 minutes.) The swimming pool also made a very unhygienic impression, even though the sanitary facilities were cleaned frequently. Otherwise, it was a nice vacation, the entertainment was great, and the playgrounds were also nice and well distributed.

We were on site during the first week of the Easter holidays (NRW). The indoor pool, including the water, was incredibly cold, so we left the indoor pool after about 30 minutes. The restrooms were unfortunately not much warmer either. The snack bar was unfortunately closed until Holy Thursday. However, the covered playground and the stone structure where the children can wash the sand to reach the stones were nice. A bag of sand and stones must be purchased at the reception for 7 euros. In the area, there are many opportunities to do something with the children. Particularly exciting was the farm with its own farm shop.

We are spending our last day here today and everyone enjoyed it. The children are currently at a foam party, just one example of the daily changing top children’s animation. If the children are happy, the parents enjoy their vacation too;-) The site is reasonably large, well-maintained, and nicely laid out. The wash houses are clean and modern. Cleaning (limited selection of groceries) is a simple restaurant with more snack food and a nice indoor pool with a roof that opens. The price-performance ratio for the site is quite favorable, with the restaurant and supermarket being, as almost everywhere in the Netherlands, above German standards. We are very satisfied and will definitely return.

Great location, very affordable. Mini market and restaurant are sufficient for a few days, for longer stays you need to go to the village.

Very child-friendly camping. Very many playgrounds for children. Gets four stars from us instead of five. Shortcomings.... High season school holidays Netherlands: Swimming pool completely overcrowded. Despite the crowds, there was no supervision at the swimming pool. There is a fence on the mini golf course. One board was broken. Within this enclosure are decorative cows. One was removed. The fastening bolts were not covered. Super minus... Sanitary building for fields G and F and etc... For at least 70 pitches only 2 men's toilets and only 3 men's showers!!!!! That's why we always rode our bikes to the sanitary building behind the entrance. Nevertheless, this camping is worth recommending. Dreamy places like Ootmarsum, Tubbergen, Almelo, Oldenzaal are very well accessible by bike. Also recommended... The fry shop in Weerselo, right by the main road. Aldi in Tubbergen. Lidl in Ootmarsum. Plus supermarket in Weerselo a bit expensive.
