Ideal starting point for visiting the region

We ended up at this campsite rather by chance as the campsites by Lake Bled were overcrowded. It was good that we happened to land here. The campsite is nicely situated by a river, the sanitary facilities are new and well-maintained, and the pitches are grouped in the center over a large meadow. This area is not partitioned. However, there are premium pitches that are separated. The vehicles in the center are a bit haphazardly distributed on the meadow, but everything is fine overall. The supply and disposal of motorhomes is well organized. Right at the campsite, there is a restaurant where you can eat quite decently. Overall, a clear recommendation.

Good site by the river

We were on our way to Croatia, spending 1 week at the campsite. It was well visited but not fully booked yet; how the large area in the middle of the site is managed during high demand, I have no idea! Otherwise, it’s super well located, you can refresh yourself in the river. The surroundings invite you to hike and bike. You can swim really well in Lake Bohinj; it's super clean. However, the parking fees are quite high during the peak season. Regarding the site, the water for the dishwashing area in the evening was not really hot, maybe that needs to be improved. Otherwise, a good campsite. Prices have increased everywhere during and after Covid, high demand regulates the prices.

Nice site with small flaws

May 2022

We have not been to Camp Danica for the first time. After our last visit here in 2019, we have now booked again for a week. When we arrived on Saturday of the Corpus Christi weekend, we found that the site (like all the others) was very full. However, we were very kindly offered to change our pitch the next day since many departures were expected. We gladly accepted the offer and for the rest of our stay had more than enough space on the non-demarcated area. Here, we were near the new sanitary building. It met our needs absolutely, but it must be said that there were definitely differences compared to our previous stays. For example, cleanliness was not as good as it had been before, and the soap and towel dispensers in the sanitary facilities were partially not refilled for days. There is definitely room for improvement! We are familiar with the older sanitary facilities from previous stays. I can understand criticisms in other reviews about the equipment. However, they were always clean when I looked at them. Fortunately, there is no animation, and there is no pool either. Right at the campsite is a restaurant with good, reasonably priced cuisine. A small bakery stand is on site, and the baker about 300 m from the site towards the town center offers a comprehensive and high-quality selection at reasonable prices. In the town, close to the roundabout, there are two supermarkets with everything you need, and a butcher with a good selection of top-quality meat can be found in a small side street opposite the fire station near the bicycle rental. The site is ideal for dog owners like us. At the back, there is a bridge leading from the site (cycle path in both directions to Bled as well as to Lake Bohinj). In the river directly at the site, people and dogs can swim. However, it is normally very cold and rocky. Be sure to wear appropriate shoes and do not play too wildly with the dogs. In terms of price, Camp Danica, like actually all other sites, has increased. Maybe it's due to the general or corona-related camping hype, I don't know. Nor do I know if prices will settle at a lower level again. In any case, I still believe that the campsite is worth its money.

Expensive, loud, overcrowded

July 2021

The already existing 4 reviews are unfortunately quite old. We encountered a completely different situation. Arriving in the early afternoon, there were initially several free spots that filled up rather quickly. By the evening, the place was fully booked. Power distributors stand between the spots and are intended for multiple spots, so it's possible that one needs a lot of cables. There are sporadic water stations. The sanitary facilities, which belong to these so-called premium spots, are a bad joke. In about 8 m², there are 2 showers, 2 toilets, 2 urinals, and a sink crammed in. Sitting on the toilet, the knees are about 5 cm from the door. The shower trays are about 30 cm higher than the floor. You walk through the shower door and find yourself in front of a slightly disgusting plastic curtain. Since many do not take this curtain into the shower tray, the shower water sometimes runs outside and floods the remaining area. During our stay, there were many young families with small children there. I unfortunately cannot understand a 4-star rating for this place; only the price corresponds to this level. We paid 94 euros for a caravan, 2 people, and a dog for 2 nights. Lastly, a warning! We were parked for an hour in an unpaved parking lot by the upper lake. When we returned, we had a ticket for 80 euros. Everything in Slovenian, no German, no English. Total rip-off!

directly located by the creek. Very close to the village of Bled and Lake Buhinjsko jezero. Very beautiful scenery. Staff was very friendly and the sanitary facilities were average. The new ones were very good, the old ones a bit too small.

We actually wanted to go to the nearby place by the lake, which was totally overcrowded. Then we switched to this place and were totally delighted. The sanitary facilities are 1A+ :-) Everything is new and very modern. The site is very beautiful and quietly located, and the highlight is the river on the site where you can also swim!
