The Maconnais wine region with its vineyards and small villages is ideal for hiking and cycling tours. One of the highlights of the region are the limestone cliffs of Solutré-Pouilly and Vergisson, which have been recognised as a "Grand Site de France" (Great Site of France). These are best explored on foot, but more adventurous holidaymakers can also climb and scale the rocks.
