Camping Bergwinkel

We were there for three nights. With a car, tent, and bicycle. The reception is not staffed, but is always reachable by phone and super friendly. It’s a family-run business. The site is clean and the lawn is well-maintained. The tent area is near the sanitation facilities, which is practical. The shower facilities are technically a bit outdated. Hygiene-wise, there was nothing to complain about. The ladies' restroom has apparently been renovated. Hot water costs 0.50 Euros for a shower and 0.20 Euros at the sink. That’s enough to get clean. Unfortunately, the common room was not open despite the rain. The kiosk is no longer in operation. The bathroom, toilets, and washing room were warm. You can also have breakfast on Sundays at the bakery in the village, about 700m away. Next to it is a butcher with daily specials. (Open Mon to Sat). The village has everything. Rewe, bank, doctors.... The swimming pool next door belongs to the municipality and has been recently renovated (the hot water showers are not yet finished). 25m pool, 3m diving board, separate non-swimmer pool, and fully sheltered "baby pool". Unfortunately, it remains closed during rainy weather and when the air temperature is under 19 degrees in the morning. When open, it was very nice, and the kiosk is stocked with drinks and snacks. From the campsite, you can go directly to the gate of the outdoor pool. If you only want to go to the kiosk, it apparently costs no entry fee. The permanent campers were also welcoming and friendly towards the short-term campers. The site is not for event-hungry or animation-needing campers or for those who need everything to be sparkling new. It’s wonderful for relaxing for campers of all ages.

small campsite with little service. The site has aged, showers are rusty. Hot water is only available for a fee. Sites are not marked. Power connection is far away. I would not choose this place a second time. The only plus is the price of €29 for 2 people and a caravan per day.

Green and well laid out, but the sanitary facilities from the 80s are in need of significant renovation. Unclear pricing, showers and flushing cost extra. Swimming pool rarely open, costs extra.
