This site has everything you need. A bit out of the way, very quiet. We were there for a week, everything was always clean. Whether by bus, bicycle, or on foot, you can get everywhere. We can recommend the site without reservation.

We were in the Harz over the weekend and chose the campsite in Elbingerode. Super friendly staff, toilets and showers were always clean and adequately available. Make sure to visit the snack bar at the campsite for delicious burgers and cocktails. Thanks for the nice weekend.

The access to the site with our caravan was a bit bumpy but problem-free. You are accompanied to the site that you can choose yourself. Electricity is charged based on consumption. The operators and staff are friendly if you also approach them in a friendly manner. Which, of course, should be the norm. However, if you do something that doesn't quite fit with the aforementioned groups, you may sometimes be spoken to quite brusquely. As a host, one should occasionally consider the tone used - even if the behavior of the guest at that moment (understandably) rubs you the wrong way. Ultimately, kindness must be the utmost goal. This did not happen to us. But we did notice a few situations. As mentioned, there are always two sides involved. The customer is and remains the customer. The standard pitches are okay, but for a medium-sized caravan with a towing vehicle, they are quite tight. An XL pitch would have been better. Toward the slope, everything is gently sloping. Under unfavorable conditions, the wastewater tank may not find a place under the vehicle. The clientele during our visit was occasionally questionable. Loud music until well after midnight was still harmless. But being disturbed late at night by clapping games with three young children is no fun. Clearly, the operator can't be blamed for that. It was unpleasant nonetheless. The cleanliness in the sanitary area, which was secured with combination locks 🤵, was okay but did not shine with particularly remarkable thoroughness. Again, guests are not entirely innocent. 30 liters of shower for 50 cents is acceptable. That encourages water-saving 👌. Food is sporadically offered from a snack truck that we did not try. The bread roll service was good. The prices are reasonable. All in all, a place as described in the headline.

We set up in the assigned spot and actually found it quite alright. On the second day, the lady from the reception came by and thought that we could not stay on the spot...! Bewildered - we were stunned and then packed together and left. Thank God - this way, we were able to have a beautiful vacation at another campsite. We cannot recommend camping at Brocken.

Very unfriendly and shameless camping owner. We were traveling with our toddler during a time when the camping summer festival took place. We asked to maintain the nighttime quiet because there was still very loud music playing across the entire site until midnight, and none of us could sleep. The response was, "we can just fuck off." So we did: Packed our things in the middle of the night and left. Departure was only possible with the help of the police because the owners wouldn't let us check out and wanted to keep the barrier closed. Only in the presence of the police was a departure possible. Can’t recommend "Camping am Brocken" to anyone.

A very nice spot in the Harz, the terrain is a bit challenging but everything is doable. The operators are always friendly and have a few sayings on their lips, just what you wish for when camping without a stick up your a**. We have been there three times now and have no complaints. At Easter, especially, the lovingly built fire next to the site that has taken weeks to prepare is wonderful. The sanitary facilities are old but up to standard! Cleanliness is always maintained. Highly recommended.

I have never experienced such insulting and rude treatment by the manager and his two female employees in my life. They evicted me because I had asked for help at the reception. I could not align my motorhome properly (due to a slope) and satellite reception was not possible at the assigned confusing sites. My question was answered on site by the employee in such a way that it was hilly in the Harz and I could choose a spot in the XL area. Alternatively, I could get a normal parking space. However, there were no XL spaces with horizontal alignment. She didn't address the satellite reception at all. Without a word or solution, the employee disappeared and returned with the presumably manager. No "Hello" or "What is going on?" He remained sitting in the car and immediately started yelling! A reasonable communication was not possible. Then came the eviction. I requested a refund of the deposit and the deposit money. He did not want to refund the deposit. I insisted on it. The money was actually thrown at my feet at the reception. The manager and the two female employees then massively yelled at me communicatively and undignified. It was beneath all human dignity. I did not experience any foundations of friendly, customer-oriented, and appreciative communication at this campsite. Anyone who wants to experience the unimaginable should book here.
