Closed, although indicated as open
On September 22, we wanted to visit the site. At the closed entrance gate, there was only a note stating that the site is closed for this season. And this, although the ADAC camping guide states 'Open 2021 until December 31' and the price list for 2022 also goes until December 31. Apparently, they o… More

Very idyllic and quiet place
At first we were skeptical, now totally enthusiastic. The place is very empty in mid-June and has probably just started its season. Great spots with sea view, a quiet bay ideal for swimming and paddling. Staff very friendly, sanitation very clean. The shop is open from 08:00 AM to 02:00 PM, unfortun… More

Unfortunately closed on 6.10.21! Although stated as open! Why can't a campsite specify exactly when it has opened! 😡

2nd stay and again very satisfied
Camp Vira is quietly located in a double bay northeast of Hvar Town. The place is already a bit aged but still in good condition. It is important that the new tenant invests a bit. Restaurant recommendation in the bay: Konoba Ringo - great fish restaurant, definitely make a reservation. Fresh fish… More

Overrated..
4 stars... well. Everything is somehow totally outdated and the team is completely disorganized. No idea what the guy behind the reception desk entered at check-in, but 30 minutes of button pressing is absolutely borderline. The beach bar is overpriced and the bay itself is dirty. Plastic waste and … More

A dreamlike campsite located by a cove. Very quiet and relaxing in September. We were able to choose a camping spot for our tent freely. Almost all spots offered a view of the water. Sanitary facilities were clean. Supermarket and restaurant were open. Clear water at the pebble and rocky beach. Nega… More

Very clean and well-maintained place. Spacious. Many shaded spots. No cars allowed. Disadvantage: the cars of the tent campers must be parked far outside the camp in an unguarded (!) place.

Gastronomic offers
On the Croatian holiday island of Hvar, the family-friendly Camp Vira is located on the natural rocky coast of the island. Thanks to the small, private pebble beach, holidaymakers can spend a relaxing time on the crystal-clear, turquoise-blue Adriatic Sea. A varied sports programme and the green forests in the island's interior attract active holidaymakers and hikers to the well-kept campsite. Dog owners can also holiday here with their beloved four-legged friends.
Camp Vira on the coast of the holiday island of Hvar is characterised by its unique location in the middle of a heavily tiered and partially terraced pine grove. Each of the more than 180 pitches on the 12-hectare site lies under the spreading and shady crowns of the gnarled pine trees and, thanks to the terraced elevations, offers a magnificent view of the bay below and the neighbouring small fishing harbour. If you follow the wide paths to the sea, you will find a 100 metre long and up to 25 metre wide pebble beach tucked away on the unspoilt rocky coast. There are flat sunbathing areas on flat rocks. If you prefer something a little more exciting, you can hire a pedalo or canoe and explore the coast of the island of Hvar from a completely new perspective. Families with children will love the children's programme, a game of table tennis or mini golf. Even dog owners have plenty of space on the spacious pitches to play with their beloved four-legged friends in the shade or go for walks through the cool pine forests. Dogs are very welcome at Camp Vira: With its own dog shower, cooling off during the hot summer days is guaranteed. Guests can find Croatian and Mediterranean specialities in the campsite's own restaurant and small supermarket.
The island of Hvar is not only known for its romantic pebble beaches and the turquoise waters of the Adriatic: Above all, olive groves and vineyards, but also lavender fields characterise the face of the island. This has given Hvar its apt nickname of Lavender Island. Visitors can look over the shoulders of the locals as they practise their traditional craft on bike tours and hikes to the vineyards and lavender growers. But there is also a fascinating underwater world off the coast: even beginners can try out diving and snorkelling accompanied by professionals from the nearby diving schools on Hvar. The small capital of Hvar is known above all for its historical buildings from different periods of history. St. Stephen's Square is the centre of Hvar. Here you will find the cathedral, the arsenal and the former governor's palace.
