Årø Camping

Super nice German owners who have been running the campsite on this small, beautiful island with a lot of love, kindness, and helpfulness for 3 years. The campsite is very well maintained and the sanitary facilities are clean. The pitches are very large. There is a small shop for the essentials. The restaurant doesn’t have many dishes, but they are very tasty, especially the generously topped pizzas. Every morning, fresh rolls can be ordered in advance. It’s a pity that we didn’t find this campsite sooner. What surprises me a lot is that the campsite only has 2 stars. In this case, one really has to question whether the ADAC inspector was actually here.

We were here for 4 days. Partially, there is a beautiful sea view. The place was very quiet and everything you need is there. Since the area is slightly sloping, wedges and/or supports are helpful. The electrical connection is easily accessible with a 10-15m cable. Waste disposal and fresh water are available along the main path near the barrier. You are greeted very warmly and taken to your spot. Access to the clean sanitary facilities is regulated by a chip card. The small restaurant offers really good cuisine. We were thrilled and will definitely come back.

The quiet, green, and very well-maintained area is located right on the edge of a large nature reserve with many interesting animals at any time of year. The place offers a lot for all age groups. Large playground and petting zoo! Additionally, very friendly and accommodating operators. It is really worth it!

We spent two nights here. The ferry only costs 50 EUR (round trip). The host warned - it might get loud: music festival with Irish and Scottish folk rock in a large tent. We were allowed to choose a pitch on a large meadow. 3 pigs on the grill and plenty of "oil" (but not in excess). Great atmosphere - we really enjoyed it.
