The tranquil village of Retranchement in the province of Zeeland is located directly on the coast. About 1 km north of the town centre, Ardoer Strandcamping de Zwinhoeve is located in a unique natural paradise in the immediate vicinity of the beach. The 9-hectare, flat meadow site is characterised by tall trees and hedges. The campsite is bordered by the sea on one side and the dyke on the other. The 25 pitches for motorhomes have electricity, TV, fresh water and waste water connections. In summer, guests can get fresh bread rolls, snacks and delicious ice cream in the "Food & Drinks" restaurant. Pizza, steaks and seafood are just some of the culinary highlights at the family restaurant Brasserie de Zwinhoeve. Guests can recharge their batteries here after a carefree day at the beach, which is just a few steps away from the pitches. The large play area is also a popular meeting place. A giant bouncy castle invites you to let off steam. There are also two playgrounds with slides, climbing frames and swings for the little ones to enjoy. During the holidays, a dedicated entertainment team entertains children with exciting treasure hunts, creative courses and sporting activities. Dog owners are very welcome at Ardoer Camping Westhove. In the high season from May to October, dogs can romp on the beach from 6.00 pm to 10.00 am. During the low season, they are also allowed to run off the lead during the day.

Excursions in the charming surroundings

The tranquil village of Retranchement surprises with numerous relics from the past. Culture lovers can, for example, visit the windmill from 1643, one of the oldest pile dwellings in the country. The red mill wheel with a span of 20 metres can be seen from afar. The Netherlands is known as a cycling nation. The 39-kilometre Zwin Route runs through the Het Zwin nature reserve in the immediate vicinity of the campsite. Rare white storks and oystercatchers may be spotted along the way. Families will love the Pierewiet adventure park in Nieuwvliet, around 10 kilometres from the campsite. Huge bouncy castles, climbing frames and a go-kart track are real highlights for the little ones. The technology loft, where numerous workshops take place, is also popular with the youngsters.
