Camping in Iceland

Iceland is truly one of a kind. We travelled through Iceland as a couple, and what fascinated us most was how diverse it is: lava fields, huge glaciers, the wild ocean, whales and puffins, chunks of ice washed ashore on black lava beaches, hot springs and geothermal baths. It all feels like another planet or a movie set.

My tip: We always got up very early to visit the top spots without the crowds. This way, you don’t have to queue for photos. Then we strolled back to the campsite and looked forward to a well-deserved breakfast. With views of the sea, glaciers or mountains, coffee tastes twice as good. Afterwards, we would already start our second exploration or hike of the day. Exhausted but happy, we finished our daily programme by early afternoon or evening and could fully enjoy a relaxed night.
