Wildwood Camping Rügen

A large part of the site allows for free placement, which makes it overcrowded and disorganized during the season; there are a lot of mosquitoes, which is no longer fun; sitting comfortably on the beach or outdoors is not possible because of this; clean restrooms/showers but slightly insufficient during the season; a long power cord is necessary due to the limited number of power outlets. There are some nice spots that can be reserved as well. We left after just one night, even though we had booked for 7 nights. The people were nice though.

The campsite is somewhat isolated from the nearest village. The closest supermarket is in Garz, about 13 km away. Aside from a light tower, there isn’t much to see. The sand beach at the site is decent, although there's a bit of seaweed washed up (July 2026). The playground is rather sparsely equipped. The minimarket is extremely expensive: €3.50 for a liter of mineral water or €4 for a can of corn. During our stay, one of the sanitary facilities was closed due to water damage (but we didn’t see any maintenance workers!). The remaining sanitary houses are far too small for the size of the campsite (8 showers for an estimated 200 pitches). The sanitary container near the Wild Meadow is unacceptable. I've never seen anything so bad at a campsite! All in all, a place with potential and a touch of hipster lifestyle!

Very unfriendly staff. During encounters, they looked the other way so they wouldn't have to greet. Sanitary facilities are in very poor condition. We left after three nights even though we wanted to stay for five.

Very nice natural camping spots under the trees, which was particularly beautiful as one does not stand in accurate rows. From our spot, we could even see the Baltic Sea or were 30 meters from the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful; we even got our same spot back as we were somewhere else for a day. The sanitary facilities were also very clean. The only criticism I really have is the bread service, reheated rolls that you must eat while they are still warm; later, you can call them stones, and that you only have food service in the snack restaurant until 6 PM. However, we enjoyed the food. If this doesn’t bother you, I can only highly recommend the site, and we will definitely return on our next visit to Rügen.

A natural spot under tall trees right by the beach. Everything is simple but functional. A designated dog beach allows for long walks, and you can paddle well in the lagoon.

We were there for Easter, not overcrowded, friendly staff and nice reception. The wash houses were always clean, no matter what time it was. The site offers everything you need, close to the water and very well-kept pitches. The kiosk has delicious rolls. We would love to come back.
