Villaggio Camping La Scogliera

We spent four nights at the Villaggio Scogliera in August. Unfortunately, our reservation didn’t go through, but we were superbly accommodated – a big compliment for that! The campsite is typically Southern Italian: no glamping, but everything you need is there. The pitches are partially covered, and for motorhomes longer than 6.5 m it gets tight – it’s essential to make a reservation. The access road is very steep. The sanitary facilities are a bit dated, and a hot shower costs 50 cents. The Wi-Fi is okay, and the mobile coverage is mostly 5G. Despite the set quiet hours, there is a loud disco in the evenings. Due to parked cars and old caravans, exiting was sometimes challenging. The pebble beach is beautiful, and swim shoes are recommended. Highlights include the bar and restaurant directly on the beach: good, affordable food and a lovely covered terrace. The "Calabrese" event with a fine buffet is highly recommended.

This is the worst campsite I have ever visited. Showers cost 50 cents for hot water and none of the showers work. In the evening, there was no water in the showers, not even cold, and cleaning is almost non-existent. Everything is completely run-down. However, the location right by the sea is a positive aspect. I strongly advise against this place.

Unfriendly reception, a locked peacock that can hardly turn in its pen, disgusting sanitary facilities ... everything is totally neglected ... in an undoubtedly dreamlike spot in the front row, only someone who brings their own sanitary and kitchen can feel comfortable ....

Simple place. As of the end of May 2022, some work is still ongoing for the upcoming high season. Normal reception. The bartender speaks fluent German. Shop not yet open. Sanitary facilities are typical for the country. But you can practically camp in the front row right on the beach.

It is not easy to find out which places are open during the winter months. This place also avoids a clear statement on its homepage and encrypts its opening hours through its price list. At check-in, they demanded to hold my ID card as a deposit, which I of course refused. It took some discussion before 100 EUR in cash were accepted as a deposit. For this, I take off a few stars. The site is located in a bay protected by the steep coast. We could choose a pitch in the first row towards the beach, occupied by only about a dozen campers, with a beautiful view of the sea and Stromboli. We also give 5 points for this - but only for this. Good free Wi-Fi. Restaurant and mini-market were closed. The sanitary facilities are of a very old and very simple style. Whoever is looking for a rarely beautiful pitch right on the beach in the distant off-season and needs (almost) nothing else - is in the right place here.

Wow :) The charming stretch of beach deserves nothing less than 5 stars. We were there during the last two weeks of September and had the campsite practically to ourselves. The little sweet shop had already closed, just like the restaurant. However, despite the gaping emptiness on the shelves, you can still get the essentials if you don't have too high expectations. You shouldn't be too finicky about the toilets and showers :) If you are a somewhat experienced and battle-hardened camper, you'll manage just fine there. (Cold showers, no toilet seats, and unfortunately no cleaning staff in action.) It's just a small old campsite that has seen better days. Nevertheless, I would definitely go back next year. I spent one of my most beautiful vacations there. Crystal clear water, rocky beach, high cliffs, and the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen.
