Horror camping, don’t camp here

This campsite is very poor. Large pitches for camping were promised, but everything had to be squeezed into a space of 7 meters wide and less than 5 meters deep... Many people are leaving dissatisfied. Sanitary facilities: very bad, 4 out of the 8 showers have been broken for 1.5 weeks, and they say the technical service is being sent. Furthermore, the showers are extremely hot and then ice-cold again. The swimming pools are very dirty. The electricity frequently goes out! Camping equipment must be placed very close to each other (less than 30-40 cm). The staff is very unfriendly and uninformed, as complaints are frequent. I don’t understand how this campsite can receive so many stars from the ANWB; this campsite is unworthy of the ANWB! The power cord must be up to 50 m long in some areas! Perhaps the cabins are better, but it’s clear it’s all about profit. For camping: go a little further away. There’s also no supervision/control, and a lot of noise.

The campsite is actually very nice, I stayed at my daughter's camper, so I can only comment on the restroom at the restaurant, which unfortunately has aged but is supposed to be renovated.

Paths in the ass. Warsteiner in Holland. Service trash. The only top, beach and neighbors.

We spent three weeks vacation there with our three children. Unfortunately, there is no pitch with direct water or sewage supply, and the power connection is mediocre; with a poor campsite, at least a 50m cable is needed, devices over 2KW cannot be used. The paths are also quite far, furthermore, the main area is separated by a levee, which is heavily frequented (road cyclists who do not take children into consideration). Information is only provided on the day of arrival. Too bad, a place with potential; here, more attention is paid to chalet rentals.

For over 51€, you stay for one night on a meadow outside the main area. The associated sanitary building is a plastic construction with corresponding cleanliness. Parking spaces are allocated that are already occupied. Not recommended for the money, I felt ripped off.

Blinded by the online presence. Okay for a weekend. Much room for improvement. Sanitary facilities in the low season are unhygienic to disgusting. Too long paths with small children. Wi-Fi €10 extra.

Huge area consisting of two consecutive mobile home camping sites. The rear site appears outdated and somewhat neglected. Motorhomes, caravans, tents, and buses are all located by the water below with a great view. The pitches are large. However, with small children, you have to walk a very long way to reach the actual beautiful main attractions at the main reception at the very front. For the indoor playground and the upcoming water park, you have to walk even further. Without bicycles, it’s not much fun here. We actually had our pitch on the furthest meadow. You only receive your pitch details upon arrival. Choosing in advance was not possible. For dogs, I would wish for a separate dog run area there. We rented a wooden house for my mother-in-law, which was just barely suitable for overnight stays. We received it in a broom-clean state. It was neither inviting nor comfortable. However, it was cheap. It was also quite different from what was displayed on the website when booking. Despite the additionally booked and already paid bed linen and towels, they were missing upon moving in. So, we had to go back to the main reception. We got the items, which were then handed to us straight from the laundry. We made the beds ourselves. For us, there were two sanitary buildings nearby to choose from. One by the shore, not heated, with toilets and showers together in the room. And the other one right behind the dike, heated, in front of the bowling alley and playground. Shower tokens have to be purchased separately (approx. €0.65). There were no soap dispensers for hand washing. In the morning, when entering the toilets, everywhere was chaos and dirt. There was litter and missing toilet paper, empty toilet rolls on the floor, and toilet bowls smeared with excrement inside and out! Complaints were made directly at the reception (in the morning), next visible cleaning and refilling of the toilet paper only happened the following afternoon. Nothing happened in between. An absolute no-go was the fact that the toilet, which had been heavily smeared with excrement outside the previous day, was still not clean after the cleaning. The dried excrement, albeit less, was still stuck to the bowl. Okay for the weekend. Not necessarily worth going. But the ice cream at the front was very delicious and reasonably priced.

Well-located campsite

Uwe
I have been an owner of a mobile home on the campground for seven years and find the pre-season and post-season the most beautiful. Unfortunately, during the main season or on weekends, the quiet hours are rarely observed. If you point it out, you are heavily insulted and the party goes on until the morning hours. It should be controlled more often that the quiet hours are maintained, otherwise nothing will change.

More info about Vakantiepark Capfun Ijsselstrand
Located in the heart of the Netherlands in a water-rich region, Vakantiepark Capfun Ijsselstrand boasts a large indoor pool and an indoor play paradise for the youngest. Bright-eyed children can also be seen at the De Eendenclub entertainment programme and pony rides. The leisure programme for adults is also impressive. In addition to a fishing pond, there are tennis courts and bowling alleys.
Campsite with large indoor pool
Vakantiepark Capfun Ijsselstrand is situated on a tree-covered meadow. The 50-hectare site offers 210 pitches ranging in size from 90 to 135 square metres, some of which are located directly on the IJssel. Some of them offer the luxury of a private bath. WLAN is available for an extra charge. Self-catering guests are welcome to do their shopping in the campsite's well-stocked supermarket That's Fresh, which sells camping accessories, toys and barbecue equipment as well as food. If you want to dine in a special ambience, visit the restaurant "De IJsselwaard", which is located on a houseboat right by the marina. There is also a cosy pizzeria. For water lovers, the large indoor pool with a retractable roof is one of the main attractions at Vakantiepark Capfun Ijsselstrand. In addition to a long slide, there is also a paddling pool for the little ones. Fun is also guaranteed in the Binkie play paradise. On an area of 1,000 square metres, slides, giant building blocks, a climbing wall and a ghost house invite you to linger. Children can also experience adventure with the "De Eendenclub" leisure team during the holiday season. Young guests will also enjoy pony rides. A fishing pond, the sauna and the tennis court will delight active holidaymakers and those seeking peace and quiet. The bowling alley at Vakantiepark Capfun Ijsselstrand is unusual and attracts attention thanks to its blacklight LED lighting.
Active around Doesburg
Like many regions in the Netherlands, the River IJssel is an Eldorado for cyclists. Active travellers can hire a bike directly from the campsite and cycle to Doesburg, known as the mustard city. You can find out why the town bears this name in the mustard museum and on a tour of the mustard factory. Cyclists can go on an extended tour on the 18 km long Graafschapspad Traject 1. From Doesburg, the route leads through the floodplain of the IJssel and along the Zwarte Schaar river to the smallest town in the Netherlands, Bronkhorst. Families will love the Burgers' Zoo in Arnhem, 26 kilometres from the campsite. Here, animal lovers can embark on an adventurous expedition through the continents and learn about the diversity of species in the tropical rainforest or the savannah, for example.
