Tomaj Camping

We visited the campsite at the end of the high season. Nevertheless, the allocation of pitches was anything but optimal. After a previous rain shower, I was sent with my large motorhome to a muddy corner where I nearly got stuck. The campsite management offered no alternative - so after a night, we left. Sanitary facilities were clean. The site is not suitable for larger combinations and motorhomes. Recommendation is to definitely avoid going during high season. Nice little paved beach with a nice snack bar.

Despite a very early reservation, we got a half-spot in an overcrowded corner! Incredible. No solution was offered. People walked over our tent carpet to get to the bathroom. The car only fit because a neighbor moved a bit. The staff was polite, but the manager was annoyed and abrupt after we complained. The whole situation was dealt with coldly; we can just leave, the place is full. Sanitary conditions were catastrophic: flooded showers for the ladies, a dirty impression everywhere, and a line in front of the men’s bathroom. Who can rate anything positively at such a level and with a price that is remarkably high for Hungarian standards? We were super disappointed after reading the reviews. We are used to a lot and not demanding, but we have never encountered anything worse. Drunk campers and fishermen are to be considered harmless here. Positive: The beach bath is nicely located but also full.

Very dear and nice reception. Everyone is very helpful and has an open ear. The prices are reasonable. The sanitary facilities are always cleaned regularly. The nearest town with shops for everyday needs is only a 10-minute walk away. Wi-Fi is available for free on the site. My partner and I always felt welcome there. We have been there for several years and are going back again...

Very friendly reception, German-speaking, helpful, uncomplicated, and clean sanitary facilities. Right at Lake Balaton with many old trees. We always walked to the next larger town (Badacsony). There is also a bus and a train. With the Jeep that are in Badacsony, you can get driven up to the vineyards with restaurants. The view is worth it. We will definitely go back there.

Very good price/performance ratio, very helpful staff, good location by the lake with bathing facilities, shady spots. Our 2 children also felt very comfortable here. Will gladly come again!!

Very beautifully located spot, right on the lake shore with a very beautiful tree population (the ADAC camping guide inexplicably talks about a limited number of trees). Great scenic surroundings with many opportunities for activities. Ideal for families with children, the site is manageable, no "hubbub", you feel very safe with the kids. Pleasant, quiet atmosphere. We (2 adults, 2 children aged 8 + 6) were there for the second year now and will definitely come back.
