Tolne Camping

In search of a spot not too far from Skagen, we stumbled upon this idyll. We were greeted very hospitably and received an extensive tour from the new owner aimed at helping us find the perfect spot. Since it was outside of the season and during the week, we had a great selection. In the end, we chose a dreamy spot in the woods on a slope with a view of the valley (which ultimately led to slight problems during departure). We were provided with extra meters of power cable, which gave us everything we needed. Thanks to our bicycles, the distances were also easily manageable, but one can't have both seclusion and proximity to everything. We really enjoyed our stay, as we could still take walks on the grounds with many discoveries. It was a joy to hear and identify the many birds. Our son loved discovering the little woodland creatures (e.g., dung beetles, dragonflies, and even lizards). He was also a big fan of both playgrounds. The newer one by the reception shows the great motivation of the new owners and is very nicely chosen. We also liked the older, hidden playground a lot (even though it could use a bit of WD-40 and a new board on the zip line in the long run). We spent hours playing with our son at the treehouse/'children's tower'. While washing up, we also saw a deer with two fawns. On 3 out of 5 days, we had a deer near our caravan. Skagen was easily accessible. In Tolne, there's very delicious coffee at a pottery. One can also order pizza through the campsite, which is very tasty and fresh. You can see everywhere that changes are happening, but of course, not everything can happen in a year. The sanitary facilities are very clean, but they are certainly on the list of long-term projects. When leaving, we were very kindly helped to get out again. That is not a given, and we are very grateful. Overall, we had a great stay in this very natural environment and are looking forward to coming back in a few years to see the results of the changes.
