A quiet, clean, and well-maintained site right next to a public swimming pool. Clean sanitary areas and very friendly staff. The only issue was the lack of toilet seats, which we found disturbing for today’s time and the standard of the site. Also, a consumption-based calculation of electricity costs would have been better for us. We don’t even use the daily fee of 5€ close to its value. There are no shopping opportunities directly on site, however there is a supermarket with a bakery nearby, and a bread service is offered on order and advance payment, which works well. The dining facilities were closed during our stay, but there is something for every taste in the village. We only used the site for overnight stays, as we spent one day at Rulantica and one day at Europa Park. Both are only about 15 minutes away by car.

Trouble-free reservation and friendly reception. Since our mover had broken down, we were given the last available terrace spot with a slope, and the helpful owner immediately offered us a maneuvering aid. Noteworthy are the well-kept lawns and the always clean washing house as well as the perfect roll service. It is a place to feel at ease.

I want to briefly tell you about an experience that my daughter (27) and I (63) had on our return trip on September 10, 2022 from Tuscany with my Bulli camper in Herbolzheim (near the A5 highway, about 35 km north of Freiburg): We had just come from La Spezia that day, had already traveled 650 km, and arrived at the Terrassencampingplatz Herbolzheim, Im Laue 1, 79336 Herbolzheim at 9:30 PM. We had been on the road for a long time that day due to several traffic jams at the Gotthard Tunnel & in Italy, so we had even tried to announce our delay by phone, but only got an answering machine. As is common with many campsites, we had hoped to stay in the parking lot of the site, which was advertised as free, so that we could at least make use of the sanitary facilities. There was already a camper parked there. The operator/owner immediately approached us and asked if we knew how late it actually was. We tried to explain our delay and inquired about the possibility of spending the night in the parking lot. The somewhat agitated owner raised his voice and said that they would not accommodate such a thing at all, it was out of the question for him. When asked about the camper, he mentioned that this family was known to them. And he requested that we please leave immediately. He was reluctant to even grant us time to consider. After that, he stood in front of his gate with his family (?) like a guard battalion and waited until we had left. These campsite operators should be ashamed! It clearly didn't bother him at all to turn away two traveling women at that time of evening. My daughter and I were very surprised, a bit shocked, angry and did not understand this treatment at all. We had to look for new accommodation because we were exhausted from the trip, and afterward found a spot alone in a forest parking lot. There we already felt a bit uneasy, especially since later a few nocturnal hobby drifters* arrived and started doing their rounds in the parking lot. We are deeply disappointed and enraged by this rejection, even though we do the place an injustice; Herbolzheim is crossed off our map. I believe such behavior from a site operator should also be part of the evaluation of a campsite. *In this, the driver attempts to oversteer their vehicle while maintaining control and a high speed.

We stayed for 3 weeks with friends at the site and there was nothing to complain about. Acsi is gladly accepted and the plots are well laid out. Everything is grass with bushes and trees for delimitation. We will gladly come back.

We have been with a camper van 4 times, each time just passing through for a night at this place. Very nicely located on the edge of town. Shopping opportunities and the city center with some local venues are easily reachable by foot. Important for us: very tidy and clean site, well-organized and friendly owner, who is also the boss where it needs to be. Great: Dog-friendly.

For years we have always enjoyed returning to this campsite. The location is quiet despite being close to the highway, the staff is accommodating and friendly. Always helpful. From there, you can engage in many varied activities. We always love going back.

Okay, but the sanitary facilities are outdated (no toilet seats) given the prices.
