What campers are saying
Summarized by AI
The campsite scores with its idyllic forest location and a wonderfully quiet atmosphere. Campers particularly appreciate the extremely warm, family-like team and the well-maintained, clean sanitary facilities. In addition, the site is a perfect starting point for excursions to the Viamala Gorge. Good to know for the trip: When the site is fully booked, the sanitary facilities can get a bit crowded.

Beautiful Campsite, Sanitary Facilities

We stayed for 3 nights at the Thusis -Viamala campsite. The pitches are nicely shaded, but unfortunately, the sanitary facilities are too small. In the evenings, you had to wait in line to take a shower, and the same goes for washing dishes. A second washhouse would be very beneficial and would certainly be appreciated by many.

A nice place just 15 minutes walk from the center of Thusis. Clean toilets and showers. The pitches are either very small or very large, close to the motorway. Good waste disposal except for organic waste, as there is only one 3-liter bin for the entire campsite, and it is difficult to find.

Not so tent friendly

Beautiful and well-maintained campground. However, the tent area is very small. We got placed on a big additional field behind the campground under powerlines with no shade. Additionally, we felt a bit insecure, as there are a couple higher rising buildings nearby and not fenced off (a fellow camper near us on the field had the same feelings). So overall, a bit unfortunate for how much you pay per night. It is okay for a night but wouldn’t want to spend a whole holiday here.

Great Campsite - Small but Nice

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely and family-friendly campsite. Beneath the shady trees, the temperatures were pleasant. The sanitary facilities were reasonably clean, and the staff was friendly and straightforward. Since there are only three showers, we had to plan a bit of time for showering, but that was no issue for us. In the surrounding area, we were able to take beautiful, small hikes with our two children. We will definitely return!

We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. The pitches are beautiful, spacious, and offer both sunny and shady spots. Throughout our entire stay, there was a calm and pleasant atmosphere. The team at the reception and in the restaurant was always friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The sanitary facilities were very clean at all times. We particularly liked the well-thought-out organization of the campsite – from the practical waste disposal to adapters for the Euro sockets to the wells where you can conveniently fill jerrycans and drinking bottles. We also found it very pleasant that unnecessary bright lighting is avoided at night. Furthermore, the campsite is ideally located: the train station, swimming pool, and numerous hiking trails are easily reachable on foot. We would love to come back!
