Summarized by AI
The campsite scores with its idyllic forest location and a wonderfully quiet atmosphere. Campers particularly appreciate the extremely warm, family-like team and the well-maintained, clean sanitary facilities. In addition, the site is a perfect starting point for excursions to the Viamala Gorge. Good to know for the trip: When the site is fully booked, the sanitary facilities can get a bit crowded.

I spent one week at this wonderful campsite. I felt very comfortable. Beautiful pitches under a large, spacious tree canopy. The staff at the reception, restaurant, and cleaning crew were always friendly and helpful. Everything was well organized, consistently tidy, and clean. A good starting point for lovely hikes. My dog was able to cool off in the Rhine and in many larger and smaller streams.

Excellent location near the station and all amenities. A good base for those setting off to traverse the Via Spluga. All services are available, and cleanliness is impeccable. The only drawback is the somewhat high price for just the tent pitch.

The location is very good, as is the cleanliness. Had I known that small fences for dogs are not allowed, I would not have gone there. Unfortunately, you only find this out on the information sheet, not during check-in or when booking. My request to see if an exception could be made was kindly ignored and declined. I then shortened my stay from 4 nights to 3, my wife didn’t even come, and the dogs arrived only a day later. Yet, I had to pay the full amount for everyone and for 4 nights, which I find quite concerning and very unfortunate.

Lovely and pleasant pine forest, great tipizelt. The sanitation facilities were clean, but there were way too few showers (3 for the entire site!). Restaurant was not open daily!

As a forest idyll in the heart of Graubünden, TCS Camping Thusis-Viamala is the ideal starting point for unique nature experiences in the east of Switzerland.
Between the outskirts of Thusis and the Hinterrhein, TCS Camping Thusis-Viamala is characterised by its natural surroundings and excellent transport links. Before heading south over the San Bernadino Pass, the campsite close to the motorway is an ideal stopover in the countryside. At the same time, it invites you to stay in the mystical Viamala holiday region. The small, well-kept site with shop and restaurant extends over a flat, largely unspoilt area. The pitches for caravans and motorhomes are located under tall pines and on a tree-free meadow. There are also various rental accommodations. When camping with children, younger guests can look forward to a playground.
Badi Thusis, a public outdoor pool with a large pool, children's pool and beach volleyball court, is located just 450 metres from the campsite in the middle of an idyllic forest. Admission is free for camping guests. Bouldering, mountain biking, hiking and white water sports are also very popular around Thusis. A spectacular excursion destination for nature lovers is the Viamala Gorge with its smooth, polished rock faces up to 300 metres high. The highest railway line in the Alps can be reached from Thusis station on the famous Bernina Express. Those interested in culture can visit the church of St Martin in Zillis, also known as the Sistine of the Alps due to its Romanesque picture ceiling.
