Simple, very clean and uncomplicated
We spent a few days at the TCS Camping in Orbe and were especially impressed by the clean facilities. Campsite in the countryside with family-friendly leisure activities
Pristine and unspoilt, TCS Camping Orbe stands for pure tranquillity. Its hilly, partly sloping meadow terrain is idyllically situated on a plateau in the forest. Under shady conifers, it offers pitches for caravans and motorhomes as well as rental accommodation. The site includes a playground and leisure facilities such as a bowling green and a mini-golf course. Right next to the campsite is a public outdoor pool with a large pool, paddling pool and water slide. Entry is free for camping guests. You can satisfy your hunger in the campsite's own bistro. There is also a shop selling everyday necessities.
Camping with excursions into history
The campsite is located on the edge of the historic town of Orbe, which is surrounded by vineyards and boasts a picturesque medieval old town. The round tower on the castle square offers a marvellous panorama over its sea of red roofs to the mountains of the Jura and the Alps. In ancient times, the area that is now Orbe was at the crossroads of Roman military roads. During archaeological excavations in Boscéaz, 2 km away, the remains of a Roman villa were found, which was once decorated with colourful mosaics. The precious find is unique in Switzerland and can be viewed in four pavilions. Other popular excursion destinations are the Orbe Gorge and the thermal centre of Yverdon-les-Bains near Lake Neuchâtel.
