TCS Camping Gordevio Valle Maggia

The location near the Maggia and adjacent to the forest is perfect. However, there are too few electrical outlets.

Good sanitary facilities. Very friendly staff. Plenty of shade options. Unfortunately, the possibility to freeze ice packs is insufficient. The Ticino Card for bus and train is great.

Great camping. It's a shame that the shop has been downsized, as the selection is very limited.

The location right by the Maggia is great. However, the campsite itself is a bit cramped (small plots, close together without borders), was somewhat overcrowded during the high season (queueing at the toilets and showers), has little shade at times, and is generally a bit bland.

We have been coming to this campsite for 14 years. We noticed that TCS has invested in the campsite. Unfortunately, this has also come at the expense of the customers. The shop is gone, only a very small selection remains directly at the reception, many hedges and greenery have been removed, one ping-pong table is gone, and the toilet cabins were locked --> for 2 weeks there was a sign on the door "out of order". And the water-saving measures are questionable --> at the pool, the cold-water shower was out of order, whereas in the official showers the hot water was set continuously. It's a very good idea to be able to rent electric bikes, but only for a full day and not for an hour or a few hours. The parking situation for cars is unsatisfactory, as sometimes there are no parking spaces available.

The campsite is beautiful, filled with many trees and partially in the woods (for tents). The location in nature is top-notch, fully surrounded by greenery and right next to the Maggia where one can swim well and jump off the rocks. The infrastructure is good and the staff is friendly. There is free play equipment for children, making it very family-friendly. Unfortunately, there are no fruits and vegetables for sale at the site and the coffee is expensive! There are a bit too few showers and toilets available, so mornings and evenings require some waiting time! However, it is peaceful, aside from the helicopter that takes off during the week at 7:30 AM! Overall, it is highly recommended. We would love to come back.

Wild surroundings, the area is super beautiful, the Maggia river is lovely, the campsite is simple and poorly maintained, with a lot of trees - plenty of shade / poor Wi-Fi reception, which bothered me the most since they promote this as a requirement - really disappointing!

The campsite is in urgent need of renovation, particularly the lower area. At times, there was no toilet paper available. The staff has never been as unfriendly as this year, whether at reception, depending on the person, or among the cleaning staff.
