TCS Camping Flaach am Rhein

We were really looking forward to this holiday. The location is beautiful and the facilities of the private camp pitch leave hardly anything to be desired. All the more disappointing was the way we were treated as a family. We felt unwelcome. Even though we were already guests at the campsite and only needed to change pitches (which had been free for days), we were left standing for several hours in the heat in front of the sanitary building while other guests were favored. Especially the owner treated us with condescension, which clearly tarnished our stay. The staff visibly found the unfriendly and authoritarian behavior uncomfortable. It was apparent that they were embarrassed by the behavior but could do nothing about it. Such a place may look beautiful from the outside, but that is no way to treat guests. For us, it is clear: we will not return.

Friendly and helpful staff and management, very clean sanitary facilities, right in nature, numerous activities possible on site (great swimming pool, nature center with a small museum, caring children's animation with crafting options, trampoline, table tennis, soccer field, fire pits, lounge area with games, etc. - there is truly something for everyone, especially for families with children and teenagers!)

Nice, well-kept place. Well located, large swimming pool, swimming in the Rhine, beautiful bike tours. Unfortunately, a very inflexible allocation of places and the unfriendly manager could still learn from the very friendly staff.

Rules rules rules. Nothing but don’t do this don’t do that. We showed up with time to check in only to be told we were not able to check in then instructed to wait until after 2pm. Some staff are fine. Some are very condescending and passive-aggressive. The older maintenance man is the Supreme Leader when it comes to rules and just being the general asshole everyone has to deal with. After a confrontation with him and how important he thought he was I was very close to canceling the trip. Staff wise, this place is a catastrophe. This old gardener needs to go into pension and leave everyone alone. The staff jobs should be run by one older, experienced manager with a staff of young teen/early 20’s apprentices. No mention about a free-use kitchen. No mention this place is EXTREMELY loud due to Zürich Airport nearby. Planes start landing at 5:30 and stop at 23:00!

Everything was well-kept and TOP. The location directly on the Rhine and within short reach of many attractions (Rheinfall, Schaffhausen, etc.) is ideal.

+ Family atmosphere + Very friendly, helpful, and sympathetic team at the reception, very + Tents located in the beautiful front area with trees + Safari tent as usual top-notch and super for children + Entrance fees for the pool and nature center (highly recommended) are included + Pool with a cool kids area + Bread delivery top (especially on weekends) + Gastronomy (Restaurant Stäubis) is excellent, very friendly and sympathetic, fries for the kids only lightly salted (we were very pleased) and great portions - unfortunately not a car-free campsite like other TCS campings - no little shop on the campsite - Although just opened for a month, the tent equipment is already incomplete (dishes etc.) and partially calcified (rain shower, coffee machine) or broken (light bulbs) - Location right next to the sanitary facilities somewhat unfortunate

Positive: The location by the Rhine is very beautiful. The plot is flat. Very nice walking paths. Dogs are allowed. The sanitary facilities are very clean. Very nice staff. A place to feel good. Negative: Unfortunately, no shop available. Ordering in the restaurant is very complicated; only possible with a phone. Payment with Twint worked, but unfortunately the order did not arrive. After a long wait, the server checked in. Over 1 hour of waiting time is too long with children.
