Super Campsite
Very nice campsite. We had a rental caravan and it was very nice inside. It was just missing some cutlery, such as a bread knife and possibly a pair of tongs if you want to fry something. The large sanitary building is very clean and lovingly furnished for the children.

Travel time October - Top
We arrived spontaneously, were warmly welcomed, and several free spots were shown to us on a map. We were allowed to choose freely from them. The power didn't work at first, but "Cable-Olli" was immediately on the scene and was able to get us connected. The campsite is huge; however, during our tr… More

Beautiful place but overpriced
The pricing policy is below par. Everything has to be paid for separately. Other campsites can do this significantly better. The restaurant Pier One is understaffed and therefore turned us away. It's a shame to get so little service for a night price of 60 euros. The location alone cannot justify th… More

Always worth a trip
Finally, after 21 years, we were back at the South Sea Camp! Previously, we used to come here with the kids at least 2 times a year. The kids are grown up and soon we will be visiting the South Sea Camp with our grandchildren! Always worth a trip!!

Great place - but ...
Good: Very nice spot, good sanitary facilities, swimming pool and pirate nest for the kids, animation for the kids, and show program. The small REWE store actually has everything you need to live - even including gluten-free food. Bad: No Wi-Fi at the pitch. At 3 PM traffic jam at the entrance. Nei… More

Camping holidays by the lake with a South Sea feeling - that's what the child-friendly Südsee-Camp in Wietzendorf near Soltau in the Lüneburg Heath has to offer. Families in particular love the holiday village for its natural swimming lake lined with white sandy beaches and its tropical indoor adventure pool with wave pool, water slide, wild water channel and sauna. Thanks to excellent transport links, travelling to the village by motorhome is very easy. During the season, we recommend booking pitches for several nights well in advance.
With its private natural swimming lake and indoor pool, the Südsee-Camp invites you to enjoy hours of fun in the cool water both indoors and outdoors. The water landscape is more than just a swimming pool: in the white water canyon, in the wave pool or in the children's pool with pirate ship and slide, every guest will find pure bathing fun and the name fun pool is no exaggeration. Numerous sports fields, a mini-golf course, a climbing garden, a skating rink, a kettcar hire service, a giant trampoline and the site's riding centre with pony rides and riding lessons offer plenty of opportunities to let off steam in the fresh air. The Südsee-Camp is also always up to date with the latest leisure trends and inspires with unusual leisure activities such as KanJam or Loopyball. The trained children's entertainment team inspires children and young people with fun and games in a colourful holiday programme that offers plenty of variety. But it's not just the entertainment programme that is popular with the children, there are several playgrounds on the site and there is even a marquee where shows and events take place. The campsite's restaurants and shops cater for everyone's physical well-being. One of the highlights is certainly the adventure restaurant at the lighthouse. From the breakfast buffet to a small snack at lunchtime, cake in the afternoon, dinner with the whole family and a cocktail in the evening, everything is catered for at the Südseecamp.
The approximately 80-hectare campsite site is divided into various themed areas directly on the lakeshore, hidden in the forest with pitches in the shade or on sunny meadows. The pitches for caravans and motorhomes, which measure between 80 and 135 square metres, offer either a peaceful or lively atmosphere. The pitches are parcelled out and have electricity and fresh water connections. The campsite's wash houses are spread across the site and offer modern toilet facilities and hot showers as well as special washrooms and sanitary areas for families and sanitary cabins for children. Emptying cassette toilets is possible on the campsite without much effort. Television connections with cable TV and WLAN are available in some areas. There are special areas for families with dogs on the dog-friendly campsite.
Guests without their own motorhome can rent one of the site's well-equipped caravans. Those who don't fancy traditional camping can opt for an overnight stay in one of the rental accommodations. Swedish wooden houses await holiday guests in the Sommarby holiday village. Alternatively, there are modern chalets to choose from, either in the forest or by the lake.
With its service and facilities, the South Sea Camp epitomises camping at a very high level.
Nestled in a fairytale forest and moorland landscape, not only the campsite itself but also its surroundings promise an eventful time out in the natural surroundings of the Lüneburg Heath. The Südsee-Camp is a true holiday paradise that leaves nothing to be desired. However, guests should not forget the attractive surroundings of the campsite. Day trips to places such as Celle with the Celle Castle, Hodenhagen with the Serengeti Park, Munster with the German Tank Museum or the Weltvogelpark Walsrode, the largest bird park in the world, are definitely worthwhile. In Soltau, the toy museum is particularly appealing to young campers. The rural and quiet location of the Südsee-Camp about 3 km north-west of the resort town of Wietzendorf makes it the ideal starting point for a walk along the famous Heidschnuckenweg trail, a bike ride from the campsite's own hire shop or a horse ride. Children love to visit the nearby Müden Wildlife Park with deer, owls and goats in species-appropriate enclosures. The Lüneburg Heath is a diverse region which, in addition to culture and attractions, is particularly fascinating due to its unspoilt nature, making it an exciting holiday destination for young and old.
