Dear camping friends, Our stay at this campsite in the Vulkaneifel was undoubtedly characterized by the beautiful landscape. Surrounded by dense deciduous forests located in the midst of the Vulkaneifel, the natural beauty of this place was truly impressive. Unfortunately, there were a few aspects that slightly tarnished our stay. The unexpected encounter with the campsite manager at 8 PM, when we were enjoying music at a quite reasonable volume in front of our caravan, was a bit surprising. She asked us to turn off the music instead of kindly asking us to lower it. This disturbed us a little since we were not aware of any loud behavior. The cleanliness of the sanitary facilities was generally acceptable, but the clay ground throughout the site was a small challenge. The ground literally stuck under our shoes, which caused both the showers and the toilets to look dirty quickly. The showers themselves were functional, if not particularly modern. However, the family or couple shower was a pleasant surprise, as it was newly and attractively designed. A peculiar detail was the doors to the showers. Each shower is equipped with an old stable door that could only be locked from the inside with a sliding bolt. In case of an emergency, this could be problematic as there is no emergency opening mechanism, but we hope of course that no one will encounter any issues in the shower. Another point I want to mention concerns the behavior of the campsite manager regarding the midday quiet period. If one wanted to enjoy a brief rest during the afternoon, one was unfortunately often disturbed by the noise of his cleaning work. Once, we experienced him working on the site with a gasoline trimmer from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM, which made a relaxed lunch break or even just an afternoon of reading nearly impossible. Overall, this experience slightly detracted from our stay, but the natural beauty and the opportunity to use portable stoves to keep warm were still highlights of our camping adventure in the Vulkaneifel. We hope that the operators will consider these small suggestions for improvement to provide future guests with an even more enjoyable time at this beautifully located campsite. Despite these minor inconveniences, we cannot help but mention the many positive aspects of this campsite. The possibility of using portable stoves to warm up during the cooler evening hours was a welcome amenity. The availability of firewood right on site was practical and affordable. With hand carts, the firewood can be taken to the site, which is weighed at the wood storage beforehand. You write your amount down on a list and pay for it upon departure. (90 cents per kilo) The idyllic location of this campsite right in nature ultimately convinced us and nearly makes one forget the mentioned weaknesses. If you want to explore the Vulkaneifel and love nature, this campsite is a good choice.

The site is wonderfully hidden in the valley, surrounded by forest and at the banks of the Ueßbach. The facilities are simple but everything necessary is present. No kiosk or (available all year round) gastronomy. Lots of space and many freedoms for guests, especially for families with children. Not for the average camper who seeks a clearly assigned plot with super sanitary facilities and entertainment on site. Dedicated site owners - but the guest must also engage. Chopping wood for the stove in the evening. Very good for tents, suitable for compact campers, limited for caravans due to the serpentines of the access road! No chemical toilet disposal - but possible in Luzerath! Great proximity to nature, diverse options for hiking and getting to know the Eifel (maars!) and not far from the Moselle. Excellent for UNWINDING!
