When we arrived on Monday, they said we could not stay longer than until Wednesday. After he saw on his computer that we have been coming here for over 20 years, he suddenly said we could stay for a week. On top of that, there are frequent power outages at night.

Sanitary facilities clean, staff do not know what being hospitable means. It had rained a lot, yet muddy holes were sold as pitch, while the dry spots were withheld. After massive complaints, a dry spot was granted. Receptionists have no idea about camping. Despite high season prices, no rolls can be purchased on Monday and Tuesday at the site, the restaurant is also closed on these days. Rip-off

Due to the website of the campsite (dogs allowed, restaurant, shopping opportunity), we booked online for a week with 2 small dogs and paid half of the fees in advance. Upon arrival, we learned that there is no possibility to swim in the lake. Furthermore, dogs are prohibited from swimming in the entire area (no lake access, only a public swimming pool). When we attempted to go out for dinner in the evening, we were informed at reception that the restaurant is not yet completed. When asked about the small shop (grocery store), we were told that there is none. The nearest shopping opportunity is in the town of Rust. To get there, you need a vehicle or bicycle (we had none with us). The entire campsite is so isolated that access to the public swimming pool was only possible through a locked door. Upon arrival, you receive a key for this door. After we complained to the receptionist about this, we were suggested to move to the campsite in Purbach (15 km away). There, everything is available as well as a dog swimming area. Unfortunately, a 45-minute walk is required to reach Lake Neusiedl. For this reason, we decided to depart the next day. The lady at the reception agreed with our decision and without further discussion refunded the pre-paid partial amount, less one night’s stay. Therefore, and because of the friendliness of both receptionists as well as the very clean sanitary facilities, there are 2 stars! Actually, only one star should be awarded.

The sanitary facilities were renovated in 2020 and are therefore very nice, tidy, and spacious. There are not many toilets and showers, which is not a problem since most permanent campers or caravan owners have their own toilet/shower. Somewhat more expensive due to the region. Direct water access, bus, and boat tours right at the door. Beach access.

Great location by the lake and swimming! With the Neusiedlersee card, free entry to the pool! The receptionist seems stressed! The entire facility and sanitary rooms definitely need renovation! Quiet hours are unfortunately not respected; it's often very loud late into the night! But my children and I like it here; we've been here several times! Definitely take bikes with you! It was a nice vacation.
