There wasn't much good, super expensive, the price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all. Nothing is renewed or repaired. Since the takeover, it has just been run down. I won't come back, can't recommend it either.

Sandy beach gently sloping, good for children and non-swimmers. Sandy ground in many places, the cleaning team is fighting a hopeless battle against the sand in the sanitary facilities. Restaurants, well, you get full. Wifi difficult. Overall very expensive for what is offered.

Only 3 washhouses were open and they were not clean. Showers partly defective. The facility was in bad condition, like it was 30 years ago. At this high price, renovations are urgently needed.

Just to clarify, this is now the 4th time in a row at the site and we have to say that the location is super, the staff is always very friendly and nice, whether at the reception or the cleaning ladies. The beach is clean, at least where we have been so far, except towards the slide which looks like a junkyard; otherwise, top. What I am missing is the drive to renew things; for years the same old and broken shower has been there, the wall at the shower faucet has broken off, shower curtains have simply come down, at the water faucets at the pitch, it has been dripping for 2 years although it has been reported, and the slides at the back of the aquapark wouldn’t pass any TÜV (technical inspection authority) in Germany in my opinion, as every year a thick layer of paint is just put on, but the prices keep getting higher without any renewal; in some places, everything is rusting through, the ground bends, and one can look through in some areas. The campsite offers Wi-Fi; I haven't managed to open a website in 5 years, let alone watch a video. This should be forbidden, stating that there is free Wi-Fi. And since this year, they are charging 150 euros for a pitch reservation, and this money is not credited towards the booking; one has to let this sink in when traveling as a group of four and wanting to stand next to each other, we have to pay 600 euros more. This just doesn’t make sense in my head. But I also know that this is all related to the Valamar chain, and the people from San Marion can't do much about it; I am really sympathetic to them, but unfortunately, they now have to do without good old customers, and not just us. To conclude, the price-performance ratio simply doesn’t fit anymore; the site prices keep rising, but nothing is being done, and I say this after 5 years of watching and hoping that next year will be better. So dear ADAC, this site doesn’t deserve 4 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟; perhaps 2 for the site and another one for the beautiful bay at the campsite, so a maximum of 3.

Unfortunately, the washroom was a disaster. The deposit of 150€ for a pitch is unacceptable. Everything is very outdated. Something urgently needs to be done there.

The booking process is quite complicated. The location of the campsite at Paradise Beach is good, but the sanitary facilities (especially House 4 and House 5) are in a pathetic condition, at most at a 2-star level: At the dishwashing areas, the sinks are partly loose, the silicone joints are blackened (mold?!?), the surfaces next to the sinks have paint chips (not very hygienic!!), the “stainless steel sinks” are sometimes very old and really worn out. In the toilets and showers, the hooks for hanging are partly broken (where should one hang towels etc.??), all fittings in toilets, washing area, and shower are totally old and worn out, toilet seats wobbly, the shelf areas in shower stalls are stained and partly broken, underneath there is strong rust on the hangers, partly the showerheads are missing, from the existing showerheads, hot water comes out extremely sparingly (showerheads need descaling) etc. etc. etc. During our stay, washroom 4 was simply closed. Why? We all paid the regular site fee! At check-in a few days earlier, there was no indication of this! Furthermore, at the check-in on 15.09.23, it was said that the ADAC Campcard would only be valid from 18.09.23, which, according to the ADAC Camping App, is not true?!? The cleaning staff is friendly and very eager, but can’t do anything due to the old facilities. The Wi-Fi practically doesn’t work on the site, no matter where you are. For the overall performance, the price-performance ratio is definitely not right. The campsite operator has a lot to renovate and to adjust the pricing structure!

Basically, we like it at the CP San Marino in Lopar. The staff at the reception is always very friendly and helpful. The staff responsible for cleaning the sanitary buildings are continuously working to keep the rooms clean at all times, and they are always cheerful. The technical staff is also always working, and help is provided immediately when there is a small issue. We think the paradise beach is great, especially for kids who like to play in the sand. There are points that we believe should be improved: The sanitary house no. 2 has seen better days. It simply does not meet today's standards anymore. The oleander that was planted 15 years ago definitely needs to be pruned; due to the growth of the plants, you lose at least one meter on each side per parcel. The internet is not just bad; it is terribly bad — during the day having a connection is like a lottery. To these points, we ask ourselves: How can the ADAC award 4.5 stars for this CP? What bothers us the most: The booking procedure with the endless emailing back and forth; while you can call, those who do not speak Italian or English are at a disadvantage. It was much better in the Imperial times, as you could write or call directly with the CP reception staff. Now everything goes through a call center, and the chance of reaching the same person (by email or phone) is zero. An absolute unknown is that if a specific plot is booked, there is a fee of 150 euros that is not credited to the total price. We have never experienced anything like this in 43 years of camping anywhere in the world.

We are now camping for the 3rd time on Rab. We have been here for 1 week now. As always, everyone is very nice and polite. It doesn't matter if it's the girls at the reception, cleaning ladies, gardeners, or whoever. Thank you for that. Weather is top. A small downside was that the beach was mega uneven. Kids dig and play...sure. But at some point, there were too many tripping hazards. It would be nice if it were leveled out from time to time... Camping 👌 Other than that, Rab is great. We had super nice meals at Cape Kaminiak and at Ankora. And prices are really okay. Not so cheap as before, but not so expensive as at home. The ferry to Rab (Jablanac) has become expensive. Camper and car, 2 adults plus 2 children 60.50 euros one way 😳 There are 3 slides. On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 to 11:45 you can slide without paying. Otherwise, 1 euro per slide. Conclusion: Rab is really super great...you can walk endlessly into the sea...kids who can't swim yet are great. Also great for us adults..

Modern zeitgeist and traditional camping flair come together on the dog-friendly site of the San Marino Camping Resort near the village of Lopar, ensuring a successful holiday in Croatia with plenty of comfort. Families will appreciate the child-friendly facilities and those seeking relaxation will enjoy the hours spent in the wellness centre, as the holiday resort is almost like a beach resort.
There is an abundance of beach here and it has a fairytale name: The paradise beach stretches for 1.5 kilometres and is criss-crossed by small inlets. Sun-seekers can relax on the sun loungers and children can splash around safely with their parents in the gently sloping waters of the warm Adriatic Sea. Numerous services are located directly on the beach, including playgrounds for children, water sports equipment providers, snack bars and beach volleyball courts.
The pitches closest to the beach are those in Zone A. With electricity and water connections, these 70 square metre to 90 square metre pitches are in the shade, just like all the other pitches at the resort. In addition to the green pitches, the 15-hectare San Marino Camping Resort also offers a good 270 rental accommodations, including modern mobile homes with space for up to six adults and two children. All are stylishly furnished and impress with their comfort and high-quality equipment. Young camping holidaymakers will also love the many playgrounds. Swings, climbing frames and pirate ships invite children to let off steam all over the site. An age-appropriate entertainment programme is offered to all three to twelve-year-olds, and teenagers and adults can also join in a wide range of activities. The gastronomy on offer at the San Marino Camping Resort is no less varied: several buffet restaurants and à la carte dining facilities, cafés and snack bars invite you to enjoy a cosy get-together with food and drink. Individual holidaymakers can purchase many delicacies on site and only need to stroll to the supermarket, fish shop, greengrocer and bakery. The service includes a station for emptying the toilet cassette and grey water disposal.
Leisurely strolls and long walks along the beach characterise the ambience at the campsite in the south of the town of Lopar on the island of Rab, as does the lively and exuberant atmosphere. Depending on which area of the campsite the holidaymakers are in. Rest and relaxation are the order of the day in the wellness centre, while active enthusiasm is the order of the day in the water sports centre. Travellers can also take one of the ferries from the harbour in Lopar to the island of Krk and marvel at the numerous historical estates. A bike tour to the island capital of Rab is also no problem, as there is a bike hire service directly at the holiday park and the distance to the town with its narrow streets and large harbour is just 12 km.
Campers can use Pincamp, the ADAC camping portal, to book a pitch or mobile home. Making an unplanned enquiry at reception could be met with a negative response, especially in the summer months. The San Marino Camping Resort in one of the most beautiful bays in Croatia impresses with its facilities and service.
