Salthill Caravan Park

The campsite is in a beautiful location right by the sea. Everything is flat, and when the sun shines, you can enjoy it in the morning and evening. However, the price of €58 + €1 for the shower + €0.50 for hot rinsing (!) is somewhat questionable. The reception was friendly, but not as warm as one might expect, especially in the south.

The location was okay. Everything else was really bad. 80 EUR for a night with a campervan without electricity. The parking spots were extremely uneven. Only the use of the toilet was included in the price. The worst parking spot during our trip around Ireland. Absolutely not recommended and definitely not for 80 EUR a night. 😖

Sure, we are traveling with 2 people and wild camping is not allowed. €49 is definitely too expensive, even if the location and the pitches are okay. And the friendliness? Well, the lady at the reception wasn't unfriendly. But there was a lack of the warmth that one usually receives in Ireland. You feel like a bother and not really welcome.

Very clean. Right by the sea and the city center is also easily reachable on foot.

Expensive... Showering and washing up costs extra. You are placed in two rows here, if the person in front wants to leave, you have to move chairs and tables aside. The showers are just a narrow space with no options to store anything dry.

that I experienced during my 4-week vacation was at the reception of this place. Rude assignment of my plot, no information that the showers are not located in the central sanitary building but at the other end of the site. I travel alone in my camper van, without disposing of any fluids, electricity consumption of 1 kWh/day, and had to pay just as much as a large ship with 2 people, a chemical toilet, TV, air conditioning, oven... My comment that I wouldn’t pay for a ghost was ignored. Never again. The owner of the neighboring site is at least friendly and will see me on my next visit from Galway.

Only the location by the sea is good! But you can't swim. Otherwise, it's expensive (even the warm water for washing dishes costs extra!) and dirty! Leaky urinals, no toilet lids, etc. Very small plots, very cramped... no recommendation!
