RCN-Camping Val de Cantobre

Unfortunately, this RCN campsite did not meet a number of important criteria. It is a beautifully located campsite, but quite remote; we were aware of this. There are good camping pitches, as it is a terraced campsite. However, from an RCN campsite, we expect more than what we unfortunately experienced as a family. We encountered several (unnecessary) issues: In the men's shower cabins, all the lights near the mirror were broken, which was very inconvenient for shaving. All the toilet paper was out by 9:30 PM in the men's restrooms. The soap for washing hands in the men's restrooms was also out by 9:30 PM. We wanted to order fries from the campsite snackbar / food truck, but that was also gone, which is unbelievable! We ordered a pizza and had to eat it with our hands because there were no cutlery available! The outdoor pool is very cold / not heated. The sanitary facilities of the restroom building are not cleaned enough and not well-maintained.

Cons

Sanitary facilities should be kept cleaner. They are only cleaned with a high-pressure cleaner and not really scrubbed with a cloth. Also, washing machines and dryers were often broken, toilets were out of order, and I found it disappointing that there are few loungers by the pool.

A very nice campsite with spacious pitches. Beautiful view with opportunities for hikes starting from the campsite. The restaurant was fine. Pitch/Rental accommodation: Spacious pitches with a lovely view.

A very beautifully located campsite. All the spots offer a lovely panorama. There is a spacious swimming pool where hygiene rules are not enforced in the pre-season. The sanitary facilities are clean and modern. The floor is visibly cleaned, but the facilities themselves receive too little attention. This could be improved. The staff is very young, which can hardly be blamed on them. Occasionally, there are loose dogs that do their business here and there. Unnecessary. The campsite shop is okay, also in terms of pricing. There are no supermarkets nearby, but there are shops in Nant: a mini-market, a fresh produce shop, a bakery, and a butcher. The restaurant on the campsite offers reasonable prices. Pitch/Rental accommodation: Grass is too tall. Otherwise, a neat and well-located spot. Water and electricity are nearby.
